sus809 Posted February 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2018 My husband and I will be staying in Boston for 2 nights before boarding our cruise in June. We would like to stay in a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of main sites and Little Italy. Any suggestions? Thank you.
1025cruise Posted February 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2018 You might want to ask on the East Coast Departures board. What is reasonably priced to you? Also, Boston doesn't have a Little Italy. It's called the North End. No one will know what you are talking about when asking about Little Italy, but say the North End, and everyone will know. Drill-n-Fill Posted February 7, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2018 Boston prices can be quite high, especially in the later summer and autumn months. The transit options in own are very good and the trains have great service out of Boston proper. Consider staying in a private rental or even out of Boston. We are going to Boston in September and are staying in the Kendall Square area which is across the Charles River not far from Cambridge. Even there, for 3 nights it's $900+
SissyFace Posted February 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2018 (edited) It would help if we had an idea of your nightly accommodations budget. How much $$? Also, are you aware of their public transit/train system? The historic sites are not all in one area. This is good advice. There's tons of precruise hotel advice here on that board.
knittinggirl Posted February 28, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2018 We’ve stayed at the residence with the free airport shuttle. We used their free grocery delivery service, and they had a restaurant within walking distance. Sent from my iPad using Forums
balanceok Posted March 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Boston prices are very high, but you will want to be downtown in my opinion. We've stayed at a couple of the Marriott properties, but got a better deal this time at the Boston Bostonian. Looks nice and its in a great location. mexico8 Posted March 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Last November we stayed at Winthrop Beach In and Suites (Boston Logan Airport). The rates were very good and we enjoyed the hotel. Only 30 rooms and it included breakfast. A couple of blocks from the ocean and a really good Italian restaurant where you can bring your own wine (store around the corner). Their web site says Boston Logan airport but it was a taxi ride away (can't remember how much but it was enough $$). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Their web site is www.winthropbeachinn.com
funji1 Posted March 17, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 17, 2018 :)We are staying at the Boston Seaport Hotel in August post cruise. It is near the convention center in the up and coming area of Boston. The location is great IMHO. We wanted to be in the thick of downtown but the prices were too high. Staying further out of the city would increase travel time and give us less sightseeing time not to mention the cost of a taxi to the airport. So, we are spending the cost of the taxi for our hotel for convenience and saving time. You can walk to the hotel from the Falcon Cruise Terminal. Faneuil Hall is about a mile away. There is the local bus that stops at the hotel and gets you to the airport in 10 minutes. The HOHO bus stops at the hotel. For $234/night, it worked best for us. Boston is not inexpensive. The hotel gets great reviews as well. Good luck in making your decision.:):):):)
cruiserking Posted September 12, 2021 #10 Share Posted September 12, 2021 The Intercontinental Boston is the perfect place to stay pre-cruise. Beautiful hotel, 5-minute walk from South Station, 15-minute walk from the North End and a 10-minute cab ride to the cruise pier. At this point, I'm sure they are all set.

Langoustine Posted October 3, 2021 #14 Share Posted October 3, 2021 The Park Plaza hotel (near the Common) is also a good choice, as is the Copley Plaza.
