Time change in the southern Caribbean.

We are sailing southern Caribbean the week that the time changes. Is anyone familiar with how that Would effect our stops, we aren’t in Aruba until 1pm so I hope it won’t get dark too early there.

Aruba, Grand Turk, Dominican Republic and Curacao do NOT observe Daylight Savings Time. Thus when the time changes back to Eastern Standard, the Carnival ship time will also change. If you are on board on Saturday night/Sunday AM, the time on ship will change then. On a southern cruise that's a sea day.

During DST, the time in these ports and ship time is the same. GMT-4

If you are embarking on the Sunday that the ship changes time. the change will be to GMT -5 and you will be 1 hour behind the local time for these ports. Thus, ship time of Noon is 1PM local.

You'll be on ship time. I don't believe Aruba does daylight savings so that would put them an hour ahead.

You don't need to be concerned about what time it is on shore. Ship time is all that matters - just keep your time in sync with the ship. All the tour operators know all about the ship, so you won't be in any danger of missing a tour.

The ABC islands are far enough south that hours of daylight and darkness do not vary much throughout the year. EM
