Rare cruisewithwife Posted April 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2018 There is no beach but there is some restaurants and shops. If you check out the reviews in my signature you can see lots of pictures in Freeport right around the port area
Rare mskaufman Posted April 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2018 There is a Senor Frogs and some other stuff but not much (right off the boat).
pacruise804 Posted April 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2018 There is a small shopping area right at the dock. You would need to take a taxi or rent a car for beaches. Freeport is home to Gold Rock Beach and I think there are other nice beaches on the island too. Note for car rental: driving is on the left (opposite of the US). ShrinkinTexas Posted April 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2018 Look at my post a few down. Don't stay at the port, nothing there. Get out. Amazing island.
Elustriah Posted April 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2018 We have went on Pat and Dianes snorkling/beach excursion and loved it. You can see reviews on trip advisor. But, they send transportation for you it isn't right at the port.
8wotw Posted April 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2018 I agree, we took a cab to Cleveland's Beach Club, nothing fancy, but we enjoyed kicking back at the uncrowded beach, cold beer and good food.
girlsbgoing Posted April 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 16, 2018 I booked an excursion at Paradise Cove. It was about $40 pp and was a great day. I can’t wait to go back. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Bella8286 Posted April 22, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 22, 2018 We used to feel the same as all of the reviews above and stay on the ship until our last time there! Right off the ship, take a cab to "Junkanoo Beach" (yes there is one in Nassau too not to be confused) The taxi ride is around 20 minutes but it's a $3 fee to access the beach, where there is a bar and great food and a really pretty beach surprisingly! This made for a great day for us before heading to Senor Frogs before getting back on. We will definitely do this again.
