Video poker in Casino on Quest

I don't know when it will be happening, but I have read on these forums that all casino tables and machines will be removed from the Azamara ships.

Really??. DH is a night owl and likes to visit the Casino 2 or 3 nights during a cruise when everything else on the ship is dead. We just booked our 1st Azamara cruise and if there is nothing to do after midnight it will be our 1 and only cruise on Azamara. Tell me this isn’t so.

There is already only video machines on Journey and Pursuits will have no casino. Everyone expects Quest to be changed at some point in the next year or so.

Understand that all table games on the Quest will be computerized...no dealers.

For the person looking for Casino action after 12 midnight on Azamara...good luck. Just came off a 10 night Quest cruise and every night was dead with the exception of the last night...and that died at 11..and this was with live dealers!!!

Better than Recency...They have no Casino!

So no table games on the Journey. So is there any entertainment, dancing at night;after 10? What time do the bars close?

We are seniors not looking for disco or partying but we dine about 8:30 so wondering if there will be anything to do after dinner? Can’t imagine eating at 8:30 and heading to bed at 10. We normally have a post dinner drink, catch a late show or dance a bit. I crash about 11:30 and some nights DH heads to the casino for a hour or so.

Anyone have some dailies they can post so we can see what our options might be.

There is dancing on Journey. The disco starts at 2230 each night. There is also music in the living room 2100 until about 2145. The shows are typically at 2015 and 2145. The one bit that’s not yet sorted is appropriate entertainment on Deck 5 throughout the evening

We just came off the Journey. As of now, all the machines are electronic. There are no human dealers at the casino. As has been mentioned, their new ship will have no casino at all. As of now, this means that one ship will have no casino, one will have a purely electronic casino and the third will have a standard casino.

I discussed this with one of the ship staff. You may disagree w their logic but this is their logic. Azamara cruises tend to be very port oriented with a minimal number of sea days. The casino can be open only when the ship is not in port. We just did a 14 day Azamara cruise w only 2 sea days. We did note that even when the casino was open, there were very few people in it so the typical Azamara passenger just does not seem to be interested in gambling. Therefore, this is an area that generates very little revenue per square foot for the company. I believe that they intend to use the area that is freed up for additional lounge space that the Azamara ships do tend to lack. They could also use the space for small group tour lectures since the only large venue on the ship is the showroom which is very heavily used.

Since we do not gamble, this change does not bother us. If this is important to the OP, they will I guess just have to switch cruise lines.

Logic makes sense. I am just disappointed because we reviewed the ship deck plans then went through the website looking at what was available in the way of entertainment & dining venues. The website talks about the casinos on the Journey & Quest having roulette, blackjack, three card poker as well a slot machines and shows a man sitting with a stack of chips in front of him.

I’m sure we will be fine, I don’t gamble and DH goes to the casino 2-3 nights during a cruise. It’s only 1 cruise and worst case we get more sleep😊
