Can you let all of us know if the pools and water slides are heated for the Alaskan cruises? I really want to enjoy them on my cruise 6/2019 to Alaska. ALSO - I second that request of checking out cabin 8738...I'm dying to get a view of that deck....Thank you for inviting us into your very anticipated cruise!

I heard that NCL is discontinuing straws in their drinks and notice no straws in these drinks. Is this true?

Not just NCL but RCCL has discontinued them also (at least on Symphony of the Seas). I purchased a set of stainless steel straws on Amazon to take with me...gotta have a straw, especially for my iced coffee and frozen drinks.

Would love to see the menu for The Local if it's not inconvenient.

Thanks in Advance!

Me too! After convincing our loyal to ncl group to try carnival last year and not having any free wings I haven’t heard the end of it!

I can tell you that Starbucks has straws. Last night at Food Republic my first drink had a straw but my second drink didn’t and I don’t have much memory after that.

I’m ocd, and have followed this sailing like a mad-man for 15 months. I believe we’re sailing with right around 700 of the 2100 cabins vacant.

But I will say this... from what I’ve seen, the pool deck and observation lounge are GAME-CHANGERS for crowd-control on BA+ ships. I’ll try to capture the magnitude of the OL, but it’s absolutely incredible in person. It’s honestly time-consuming to walk the whole way through.

Heading to early-sleep now, with our balcony wide-open and the crashing of hull waves coming every 5 or 6 secs. I’m looking forward to less-responsibility ahead!

Judging by the port I would agree with your assumption as to numbers But NCL said it was fullish. I think what they mean is a that is as full as they want it for the crossing.

It is a truly breathtaking ship made up of the best of the Epic and then the BA class and BA class plus. The haven is again WOW. Just booked Encore as a result!!

...on the run to Southampton it was smoking outside so may be its changed it makes sense.

Talking to a casino manager right now about it. There has only been smoking permitted in the “courtesy room”, and outside has been and will continue to be non-smoking. She says nothing was different during the 2-nighter.

Interesting as people were smoking outside without reproach. Does not really matter anyway it is what it is

It would definitely matter as people would not want to walk through smoke. I hope that is better handled so that smokers have their enclosed area to smoke in and non smokers can walk through without being required to breathe in smoke. Everyone is happy that way.

Just make sure you don't put the drink down with the straw still in the cup. Those SS straws are heavier and will tip over your drink :) Unless you bring a thermal mug/keg and use that for drinks, you should be fine then with the straws.
