On Carnival if your cabins have an interior connecting door, you will not be able to open the balcony divider because it would block one of the doors. (This does not apply to Spirit class, but none of them are on the west coast at present.) EM

What cruise line or ship?Ss

very important as some ships are grandfathered into 5 in one cabin

and others feature family suites that hold 5

We took our first cruise with 5 to an inside cabin but it was me and 4 kids.

7 Day?

Right now your only option is the Splendor. Get two cabins- double and a triple. Most balconies can open up making one long balcony. Third person would sleep on a couch (daybed).

The three and four day cruises on the Inspiration or Imagination would either have an upper or bring in a rollaway. There are no balcony cabins on these ships. Suites do have puny balconies.
