What is the BEST deal you ever got on an NCL cruise?

Dec 9, 2006 was ours!

It was an 11-day cruise on the NCL Wind around the Hawaiian Islands and Fanning Island, just 3 degrees or so off the Equator starting in Honolulu and back to Honolulu. Those days NCL had 4 ships based in Hawaii and they were struggling to fill the ships and boy, were there some insane bargains to be had.

We flew out of LAX, had a one-night pre-cruise hotel stay, the 11-day cruise, one-night post-cruise stay and the flight back to LAX. All for $611 each, cruise, hotels, flights, airport/hotel/cruiseport transfers, port charges, taxes, fees included! Everything booked thru NCL.

Please keep this thread to NCL only cruises. Thanks.

I have only been on two cruises so far and neither of them were bargains. But it's looking like my cruise on the Bliss next February is turning into a good deal. We booked while on board the Escape this past February. We got a BA for $1049 per person. Even got one of the angled balconies. Now that same category on the same sailing is listed at $1529 per person.

I bet the people who were booked on the Pearl for next spring are going to end up making out pretty well with their "upgrade" to the Joy as well, if prices on the Joy are comparable to what they've been on the Bliss Alaska sailings.

Feb 2013 - Jade for 11 nights of Mediterranean & The Holy Land Cruise - BB balcony for $810 each and $150 OBC.....so about $66 each per night ($133 for the cabin). Plus triple Latitudes points. I love going places where other people are fearful of going because it is less busy and incredible deals like this.

We booked 7 night Western Caribbean on Epic for Thanksgiving week with kids sail free. Passengers 1 & 2 in our balcony cabin were just $719 each, and our son was free. We thought this was a great deal for a holiday week. This was 2014, so not really that long ago.

I’m booked on the 11/3 Gem sailing. My husband and I both got cruise certificates from a lane based casino for inside rooms.

I combined those so we started out with ocean view. I picked a sailing that had free port charges, taxes & fees and I paid to upgrade to a balcony. We have the free open bar and the specialty dining package and are paying $550.00 per person!!

For us, it was the Spirit in Easter last year to The Eastern Med, including Israel.

11 nights sailing out of Venice. It cost a total of £2,267 for three of us (including the DSC), so less than $1,000 per person with the beverage package and a little bit of OBC included. Based on current prices, that is only about $600 more in total than the beverage package would cost to buy.

Second was the Spirit again this Easter. A few hundred pounds more in total, but the cruise was a day shorter. We did get a couple of 4 meal SDP's thrown in though.

Our best deal was an eastern Caribbean cruise on the Epic in December of 2016. Balcony category BE for $714 pp. The two free at sea choices we chose were the unlimited beverage package and the $50 per port shore excursion credit. With the beverage package service charge, port fees and taxes it came to a total of $925.75 per person.

Best deal was my first cruise. Didn't book until about 3 weeks out so it was $259 for 7 days on the Jewel to the Western Caribbean. I think taxes brought it up to $378 total for an inside cabin. I fell in love with cruising and am going on my 10th one soon. My bar bill was more than the cruise fare, no joking. Don't think I'll ever match that deal except maybe in retirement when we can book 1 month out. Right now have to plan for vacation time so not going to happen any time soon.

Best NCL deal we have gotten was a 14 day Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona Spain to Venice, Italy. Total for Deck 11 mid-ship balcony was $2522. We were the last ship to come into Venice before the ban will exclude all ships exceeding 96,000 tonnes from St Mark’s basin and the Giudecca Canal in 2015.

May 2013. Norwegian Sun. Alaska. Sailed solo. B2B. Week one inside(IX) No single supplement $299 plus taxand port fees. And week two an IX NO single supplement $249 plus tax and port fees. On both cruises tax and port fees were about $200. Then during the first cruise I was able to upgrade to a BX for the next week for only $150 more. So the second week a BX for $399 plus tax. That year 2013 was a great season for bargains. Since then I have not paid single supplement only six times for a cabin. And sailing with the single supplement (or friend) I have spent as low as $299 for an IX and $499 for a BX and $599 for a MX. All were booked less than two weeks out. That was also the year I purchased my NCLH stock.:D

October 31, 2017 Gem 11 night S. Caribbean, which I jokingly refer to as the ill fated Halloween cruise. Booked a category IX last minute (no single supplement at all) for $429.

I was ready to go home after 10 days, so I didn't view flying home from Barbados as that bad. I managed to get to the Airport very early, and was checked in before the computers crashed!

August 2014 sailing on the Pearl rt from Seattle to Alaska. Last minute $199 pp inside stateroom. The next day the pricing went down for Washington state residents. Got the refund in obc and it paid for spa passes for daughter and I. The cruise cost less than the taxes and port fees. No flights and we mostly hiked in ports. I don’t think they do resident rates anymore. Some friends were trying to get on the Bliss last minute, family of 5 and the cost was insane.

Our last cruise was probably the best deal we've had. We had an aft penthouse suite on the Jade in January of 2017. It was a 10 day cruise which included UBP and the old UDP which was really unlimited with no restrictions on what you could order. We ate in specialty restaurants every night. It also included paid DSC , shore excursion credit and $300 OBC. It was booked before they started adding the service charges to the UBP and UDP for suite passengers so we didn't have to pay that either. It was just over $3100 for the two of us.

Wow, that does sound like a VERY good deal!

My first and only cruise sure seemed like a good deal to me. We sailed on the Star in March for seven days to the Mexican Riviera not long before dry dock. Originally I had reserved a mini-suite for myself, my husband, and two teens at $825 per person with the UBC for two and internet. In early December I saw that a family suite opened up and was just $900 per person and included all the perks.

We all get along well but I was thankful that the room was huge (500 sq ft) and had three separate beds that all curtained off for privacy. The wall of windows made for great viewing and not having a balcony was just fine. Our butler, Putu, was so nice and really added to the trip. The best part, however, was the priority embarkation and debarkation - the latter so much so at the end of the trip. I couldn't believe how long the line was to get off of the ship.

However, in the long term it might not be such a deal because after booking a balcony and inside for a cruise next Feb I started thinking about that long line (I hate waiting in lines) and not getting the fillet for breakfast so I consolidated rooms and upgraded to a Haven room. It wasn't such a deal. I might have to stop cruising at this rate because I won't be able to afford it! LOL

Just did the GEM a few months ago. For an Aft-Suite Balcony (not Haven but with access to Modenno for breakfast and lunch), with a concierge and butler, $300 OBC from TA, $300 OBC from AMEX (using my platinum card to book), $100 OBC from NCL and another $100 OBC that I’m not quite sure where it came from.

That’s a total of $800 OBC. AMEX also included 1 dinner at Le Bistro with a bottle of wine. NCL threw in the 3 specialty dinners, drink package, $50 off any excursion, 250 minutes of internet.

Total price...all in....$3,200. No bill at the end of the cruise.

And, as a surprise, a few weeks ago, NCL sent me an OBC refund check for $200.

I think I booked 4 weeks out for the GEM.

I’m looking at the Breakaway for Sept (after the kiddies are back in school and the parents are busy with helping them with their homework) in the Haven. Looking like $4,200-$4,300 in a forward Haven Suite. $400 OBC ($300 OBC plus another $100 because I’m now Platinum Lattitudes). The same $300 from AMEX. I’m sure my TA will kick in some. Again, LeBistro Dinner with Bottle of wine from AMEX. Another LeBistro and Cagney’s dinner for being Platinum.

UDP and 3 SDP included....$50/excursion credit....250 Internet minutes (plus an additional 50 minutes for being Platinum).....1 free bag in laundry.

OBC estimate should be somewhere between $900-$1000.

I may not have to eat dinner in the Haven restaurant at all given all the dinners thrown in.

Mighty tempted on this one, too.

January 2016 east & western Mediterranean b2b 21 nights in an aft balcony cabin on the Epic.

3 people £700 each(around $1000 dollars) & it included the UBP & soda package for our daughter.

21 nights total $3000.

We had no rain for the whole trip, which for January & February in Europe is unheard of.

We had 11 Ports of call visiting Morocco, Canary Islands, Madeira, Spain & Italy.

My jackpot was April this year, Epic Ta. $449 with taxes $600. Then used a Cruise Next, and $250 stockholder benefit to purchase 2 more Cruise Next- So, this was a free cruise for 15 days. :)

I'm fortunate to be flexible and able to make fast decisions and book the last minute. For the deal above from booking to departing out my door to the airport was 4 hours, no packing done prior and I was then gone for 7 weeks. Only forgot one item, that I picked up via public bus from MCO to Walgreen's. :)
