On a related note- do the specialty restaurants have anything super special on lobster night? We will be on SOS, but will be doing specialty restaurants every night...

Not really. I think those menus only change for Christmas and New Years.

Coastal Kitchen on Oasis has lobster the same night as the MDR

Yup you are right. Nothing like trying to eat a overcooked tasteless piece of rubber with hopefully some hot butter to help disguise it once you destroy it trying to remove it from it’s shell. Shame Shame Shame

Oh man...whatever happened to the ultimate favorite food ....chocolates on the pillow at night?:o;)

Sadly Budget Cuts! They went the way of the white pens having Royal Caribbean printed in Blue with the LOGO down the side! And remember when the the towels and bath mats were a salmon pink! :)

Quick quasi related question: Does anyone have a link to RECENT MDR menus? I know they’ve changed some, but im not confident I’m seeing current iterations when I search.

I would love to see that to

Menus can depend on the ship, itinerary, and number of days. The new menus are no longer named like they used to be (named after spices). Your best bet to see menus is to search for a review of a cruise written by a cruiser on your ship and see if they posted menus.

I love the curry dishes and roti in the Windjammer.

I LOVE buffet -- love having a little bit of lots of dishes.

You may be interested to know, this is not common knowledge, but there are special menus on board for Indian dishes. Make the inquiry, you may be able to have these prepared special for you as well in the MDR. One Night, the table next to ours got an entire Indian meal and said it was excellent.

Wild mushroom and chicken pappardelle, served in the MDR at lunch. I look for it on every cruise. Very delicious!

Yes, yes, yes! I love this one too!
