We will be in Honolulu for one night staying at the Royal Hawaiian.

We are looking for a recommendation if a don’t miss restaurant. Looking for food and ambiance of course.

Thanks in advance.

Agree with poster below for an iconic dinner.

Best lunch: the “B Double El T” (bacon, lobster, lettuce, and tomato) sandwich at the nearby Moana Surfrider’s Veranda (start with hamachi crudo). The Moana shares room charging privileges and elite guest perks with the Royal Hawaiian.

Best Thai: Noi Thai on level 3 of the Royal Hawaiian shopping center is the best Thai food I’ve had outside of Bangkok.

Start with cocktails at The House Without A Key to listen to the Hawaiian music and watch the dancer. Then walk across the lawn for dinner at Orchids. This is about as iconic as dining gets in Waikiki.

Another vote for House Without a Key.    We walked down the beach from the Royal Hawaiian our last visit, thinking we could get into the hotel easily.   Unfortunately, the property was fenced to discourage walk-ins from the beach, so we ended up waiting by the pool gate until someone came out, grabbed the gate and walked in.   We intended to go elsewhere for dinner after cocktails, but ate so many lovely 'pu-pu's' that we didn't want dinner - it was a lovely evening!
