MIA Terminals

Walk to terminal D (its all inside security, maybe 10mins at most) and then hop on the Skytrain to the last stop going towards the lower gate numbers.

There is a hallway towards the D gates to your left close to gate E-4. The Skytrain will be close to where the hallway ends get on at Station 3, and take it to Station 1.

If you have an issue with the walking let AA know and they will set up a cart ride for you.

I wouldn't bank on those flights arriving/departing from the gates you quote unless you are on final approach into MIA as we speak. Flights at hubs such as this do not always leave from the same gate each day.

When you are arriving at MIA you should be informed which gate you are arriving on. Look at the American Way magazine in the back so that you can determine where that is. If you have the AA app then it will show you the gate for your onward flight (gates can change around on the day, even in the run up to departure too) so you can plan how to get between the two.

Don't expect those gates to be set in stone - I've had gate changes at MIA at the last minute in the terminal, whilst in flight, and even after landing while taxiing in.

Two days ago, we landed 20 mins early at MIA so of course the gate wasn't free for us - eventually we were given another gate but then there wasn't anyone to drive the jet bridge, and on and on ... finally we deplaned 55 mins after landing at a gate far removed the the scheduled one.

The Skytrain is very easy to use, just be sure which gate you want to go to. There are plenty of departure boards throughout the terminal.

Thanks again for the additional info. We are quite used of gate changes. We depart on Wednesday and are going by what is on the AA sites. Naturally, we will check the monitors at the airport. ATL is usually horrible about last minute gate changes but i haven't had much problems with MIA.
