Marella Explorer

Recommended Posts

Looking to book on this ship next year.

Does anyone have any information on balcony cabins from the ship's previous incarnation?

In particular:

How much difference is there between standard and large balcony? Might the larger balcony have sunbeds instead of chairs?

Large balcony cabins can sleep 2 or 3 - the latter having a sofa bed. Do these cabins differ in size? On at least some cruises, the 3 person cabin is cheaper than the 2 person. Why should this be? Is it related to location or perhaps a 3-person cabin is likely to be noisier (e.g. with a child).

Any deck recommendations? e.g. how much noise comes from facilities on decks above and below.

Many thanks,

Stuart

Sorry, can't answer your questions but it might help others to know that this ship is currently Mein Schiff 1 and was previously Celebrity Galaxy. Her sister ship, Celebrity Mercury is currently Mein Schiff 2 and will join the Marella fleet in 2019.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just booked 14 nights on the Marella Explorer from 30 June 2018 on the "Cosmopolitan Classics & Highlights Of The Med" cruise.

This will be our first cruise, so will be absorbing as much info and advice as we can get.

We have a balcony cabin on the "port side" up on the 9th deck after receiving a great upgrade deal via Iglu.

We have done many years doing DIY Orlando trips, so will be looking at doing most excursions away from the organised tours.

I am sure there will be many questions from me between now and June !!!

So, I guess the first question would be to ask if anyone else will be on the ship at the same time ?
