Serenade of the seas

Recommended Posts

ive currently got the same dilemma, im looking at a cruise on this ship for nov 2018 round the caribbean for 10 days which i think is a good price with the included drinks package and upto $200 onboard spend offer.

the ports of call are all ones ive not been before and would like visit, but im unsure about the ship. after just getting off the allure and being on the freedom previously im thinking this ship will be to small and ill miss the size\activites\promenade that they offer, some peoples opinions on here arent helping either with 'id go on the navigator before the serenade' and alike.

also ive just been looking at recent compasses and little things like no sorrentos and the park cafe shuts at 12am arent very appealling, i like late nights and snacks :-D :-D

I have a few more questions. I was trying to look up the dress code and I saw conflicting information. I know people will wear what they want but I want to make sure we are following the guidelines. I know shorts aren't allowed in the main dining room for dinner but what about jeans, tennis shoes and a t-shirt for men? For women, does it have to be a dress or are Capri pants still allowed? I know what is expected for formal night but if we went to a specialty restaurant on formal night, that's still smart casual, right? And that could be maybe dockers and a polo shirt for men? Or a button down shirt?

how is the night life on serenade? besides the casino what is going on around the ship? thanks.

We will be back on Serenade in two days for the repositioning cruise out of Boston. It and her sister Radiance class ships (Jewel, Brilliance and Radiance) are among our favorite ships in the RCI fleet.

In the evening there is a lot more to see and do than just the casino: there are production shows and/or headliner performances in the theater, live music and dancing in the Centrum, a piano bar in the Schooner, and various games and other activities such as the Quest in the Safari lounge on Deck 6 aft. The Vortex, on Deck 13, serves as a disco and some nights there will be some poolside activity. Movies are scheduled for the Cinema on Deck 6 just past the Pub, and also on the large screen by the pool. On Halloween or on the upcoming cruise, on the night before Halloween, there is usually a costume parade. The ship is busy well into the night with plenty to occupy your evening.

Oh, is there a Rita's Cantina on Serenade? I saw that mentioned in a review but not in the listed restaurants for the ship.

On the Serenade currently and yes there is a Rita’s Cantina. I know Serenade is going I to dry dock for 2 weeks beginning November 1st, so not sure if any changes will be made or if just sprucing things up.

This Dry Dock mostly just Marine Side, not really any big changes scheduled like last one...

How are the outside areas? Someone mentioned they were in need of repair. That the inside was nice but not the outside.

We sailed on Oasis again because I really love it, and a couple of months later did a round trip Panama Canal on Coral Princess. I wondered how I'd enjoy the ship itself after all the great entertainment and dining options in Oasis

DH and I both loved Coral. There was plenty to do and it had a "real ship" feeling.

I love Radiance class and am looking forward to Serenade.

Next cruise probably a big ship again.

Hopefully you'll have the same smaller ship experience we did on Coral and expect to have on Serenade.

Thanks! I'm still undecided but the free OBC offer finishes in 3 days
