Tell me about casino vip cruises

Recommended Posts

We finally didn't book our cruise for October and were offered a complimentary VIP casino cruise that we will take in two weeks on the Oasis.....we have done a number of Carnival VIP casino/premier/ultra premier cruises and my question is, what is RC casino cruise like? Carnival gives us gifts in our room when we arrived such as lanyards, tumblers and such plus goodies sent daily to our room...cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, wine, etc....curious what to expect with RC casino comps, do they give you any perks such as what Carnival gives?

On Carnival the slots were tighter and the table stakes were higher and the casino was more crowded, should we expect the same on the Oasis?

It doesn't matter if they don't we just are curious what it is like since this is our first one with RC.

From my experience, we were treated with goodies in our cabin different nights. We had several fruit and cookie trays delivered as well as a couple bottles of wine during our cruise. Nothing fancy, just little welcome gifts I would say. As far as the casino, it seems all the slots are tighter than say casinos in Vegas but there you have options. With that being said, I’ve seen several wins on a cruise, so it’s just all luck. It sounds the same as your Carnival experience. Have a great cruise!Karen

When we were on the Harmony in May the last night there was the certificate left at our room giving us a list of comp cruises available to us, they were balcony cabins.

Oh, I thought there was a specific VIP casino cruise. Those cruise are not “VIP cruises” specifically, just a list of cruises that you can choose for a free balcony cabin because you earned enough points..

They would be no different t than any other cruise.

No, there is a list, decent choices of many cruises, from what I was told by decent sources, the most updated list only goes to March, 2018 I been hoping they extend that list at least for April cruises, but so far they haven't come out with a newer updated one, as I want to cruise in April, and Carnival offered me a comp cruise so hoping RC does the same so I can turn down the Carnival offer.

You either earn an interior stateroom, which has its own different list of cruises, or an Oceanview which is another list and then there is the balcony earned cabins with its list. Unfortunately the available comp cruises from now to March are mostly short cruises, with a few exceptions of a few week long ones but not as many as I was able to choose fro august thru October. You also have within 30 days to book the cruise or you loose the deal.

I totally get what you are saying, and I agree 100%, but they are not casino vip cruises....they are just regular cruises that you have the option of taking a free room on (well you pay taxes and port fees).

As an FYI, you can combine a balcony and an interior room for a free Jr suite (not too many people know that).

Also you can use the certificate towards any cruise not on the list for a value of $1000.

Cheers....Brian

NewfieGuy1972- Thank you for clarifying that for us.....we were hoping it wouldn't be like one of the bounce back offers that Carnival offers...where they raise the table stakes higher and tighten the slots...I am glad to hear they are regular cruises. Yes, heard that you can also get a junior suite but for us even though on cruises we pay for we always get a balcony cabin, if we use that balcony for even up to an hour during the week long cruise that is a lot for us, we love the extra light, to see the weather and the view but we are only in there to sleep, dress and shower, never really in our rooms not even to eat breakfast, I think we are one of the very few haha.

Your correct, we do have the option if we don't want to book any of those sailings on the list we would get 1k to apply to any cruise we wanted, which is probably what we will do after this upcoming cruise, that is if we earn another or shall I say my other half earns it, as for me, I am too cheap lol.

Another thing that I should mention is that you may also be entitled to a "casino rate" on a room, but that depends on how they have you rated in the system.

I always earn the free balcony room, but I rarely use it as I like to go on longer cruises, so I end up using the 1k towards a cruise, but I always call Casino Royale and see what the best price they can give me on a room, and then apply the 1k certificate on that amount! They always give me a rate better than what I see on the website. (I just booked 9 nights in a 2 bedroom owners suite on Jewel for next Oct for $6750, the best website pricing is over 10k).

So make sure you call casino royale (888) 561-2234, give them your C & R number and see if you have any "offers" in the system.

Good Luck!

Your husband will either have a Casino VIP sticker on his seapass card when he boards or should ask the Casino Host for it. It entitles him to free drinks in the casino. Keep in mind that since your husband received the offer and you did not, you won't be entitled to free drinks.

Thanks to this program, I cruise fairly often in comped cabins that we upgrade. When we sail on Oasis shortly on the same cruise as you, it'll be my 6th cruise in the past year. Oasis does have higher table minimums though so hopefully I'll win.

I’m a Club Royal VIP or was as recent as September 17th sailing.

We receive all kinds of treats in our cabin first day and throughout the cruise. Chocolates, Strawberries, Cookies, Fruit and Cheese. Typically a bottle or two of Champagne or Wine. Water.

I am always confused what comes from who/why. We stay in GS and are Diamond. So are these Suite perks, C&A, or Casino???

You need to see the Casino Host when the Casino opens to get your VIP sticker on your SeaPass.

Great questions! We also stay in GS and are Diamond Plus and I always thought the goodies were because of our cabin. I usually get a bottle of champagne or some other treat mid-cruise but it's delivered with a note of thanks from the casino.

We have received the offer for a Free cruise too...they never work out for us time wise...however, we have been able to book our cruises using the casino rate (WOW)...that is one hell of rate. We are doing a B2B in January 2018 for 2 people under $1500...can't beat that. We love the casino.

Sellwringri- Thank you for that info! We both have the ultimate drink package so I am even good, but its nice to know they offer free drinks in the casino for him. I guess since the tables are higher, then you should win higher/more! ;) I generally book our cruises and land based vacations a year in advance, he always gets offers from RC and Carnival only we always have another trip around the corner and never were able to take advantage until now and I didn't book any cruises up for next year, keeping fingers crossed, but I would think since we are on a week long cruise, and he has received balcony offers the worse case he get an interior and we upgrade. (I hope! LOL)

Milwaukee8- Thanks for posting that and I noticed it says book by October 31st so really hoping they have a new list of cruises for 2018 to choose from, my Oasis cruise ends on Sunday, November 5th, maybe we be lucky?

Nessa1dc- Yes, wonderful excellent rate!

Got to love RC because until now, we taken advantage of Carnival only after cruising the Harmony in May we really summed up the fact we loosing so much more not going RC, but whoever offers the comps, if its not RC I take Carnival but if RC continues and my other half qualifies, we wouldn't even consider going Carnival.

Unfortunately, they no longer allow you to combine the casino rate and the certificates.

How much would one have to play in order to get comps from the casino dept? I played $300 and won $400 on a dollar slot (max bet $3), but didn't get anything. lol

It’s not what you win but your buy in, your average bet, and length of play. Slots are straight forward and others can explain the points for slots as I don’t play them.

If you play tables, you average $50 a play, four or more hours a night, your likely to get comped something on last day of cruise.
