We survived the 3 long flights to Barcelona and arrived on Thursday afternoon.

Love this city. Very clean with lovely people. Weather has been warm and perfect for walking around seeing the sites.

Today we board the vision of the seas for a 12 night cruise around the Mediterranean with an overnight in Venice.

This is our replacement cruise from royal Caribbean for the radiance of the seas breaking down in Airlie beach in April this year. Booked and ocean view guarantee room with our free cruise credit and paid the small amount extra. Both rooms were assigned as balcony cabins.

There will be 5 cruise ships in the port of Barcelona today including the symphony of the seas.

The 5 ships at the Barcelona cruise hub today are ...

Celebrity Eclipse

Norwegian Epic

Seven Seas Voyager

Symphony of the Seas

Vision of the Seas

We took a prearranged transfer service to the port. Made it super easy. The vision was parked between the symphony and the eclipse. It was dwarfed!

We were moved through the lines and onto the ship within about 15 minutes

Yes the ship is small compared to the other bigger ladies but the crew and other passengers are lovely

As a sister ship to the rhapsody it feels very familiar.

No there is non of the bigger ladies extra activities such as a flow rider or ice skating rink but we are off the ship most days anyway.

There is lots of Australians, Americans and English onboard.

Tomorrow is villafranche

They are heading for Livorno today and will be in port along with Oceania Riviera and the Crystal Serenity.Livorno is the port for the leaning tower of Pisa and the Tuscan countryside.

Plenty of action around Livorno today - she’s following Crystal Serenity in

Wonder if we can catch the ship on CrystalSerenitys bridge cams? :D

She doesn’t have an aft facing one. But you’ll have options for forward, port and starboard so may catch her

Villafranche was a beautiful little town. The weather has been warm but not too hot.

We went to Paul de vence on the ships tour. Beautiful walled hill top town facing the Mediterranean Sea.

We drove through Nice to get there. Just amazing.

Villafranche is also very beautiful.

The vision is a lot smaller than the newer and fancier ships but very personal service. Great staff and very nice food.

Captain Merek seems very personable and encourages his staff to be so also.

He mentioned during his welcoming speech that he had gone to visit the Symphony of the seas whilst in port in Barcelona and despite its larger size he still loved Vision of the seas as his staff and crew made it his home and family.

There is mainly Americans on board but the 4th highest nationality of guests is australians.

We have just arrived in Livorno

We are doing the ships tour to Pisa.

I really like seeing the other cruise ships.

Just went to the windjammer for breakfast and we could see the other ships. There is also a number of ferries in port.

We keep getting advised that we may experience rough seas but nothing like the crossing from Australia to New Zealand. So far perfect weather and perfect sailing conditions.
