Self-service Laundry

Has anyone used the self-service laundry while on the Quest ? If so, do they provide detergent and Bounce (or something similar) or do they have it in the laundry for sale.

There are packets of laundry detergent to use but not fabric softener.

Not certain if they would want softener sheets used in the dryers, since the chemicals used can impact the sensors.

In June one of the of washer/dryer combinations was out of service. Perhaps more recent cruisers can comment if repairs have been effected.

I routinely take my own dryer sheets as to many others. The trash can always has lots of used ones in it.

We did many loads when we cruised last year; we didn’t use dryer sheets and had no issues with static.

On Quest last month they now have liquid capsules rather than powder. I usually take my own colour catcher and bounce sheet.

We have done our laundry on board and found no need for conditioner. We don’t use dryer sheets as they are another thing that are terrible for the environment.

Dryer sheets give off a chemical that clogs lint filter screens.

As of August 11 one was out of service but back online the next day. I really liked having this onboard, but you better be flexible as they are almost always full with a queue...still looking for one black sock that decided to become a stowaway on the next leg of the cruise. :ship:
