A morning in Haines

We are going to be in Haines on July 4. Westerdam docks at 6:30 AM, we have an excursion at 2:15 and were wondering what would be the best way to spend the few hours we have in town.

Walk by the water, visit the memorial to members of the community who have been lost, then to the harbour, and gaze at the views. Then turn inland to the Sheldon Cultural Museum (I think that is what it is called) and the Hammer Museum.

Thanks. Not sure what I'm going to have to agree to in order to get DW to a museum about hammers, but it sounds interesting to me

If she is tender-hearted towards dogs, there is a small display there about a dog rescue and the person who rescued the dog <3 That was worth the trip for us!

If she is mystical, look up the story about what was found under the building while excavating for a foundation.

If she likes history the artifacts will be of interest. If she is academic, the Smithsonian's involvement may interest her.

If she relishes the offbeat.... it's a natural :D
