Just received notice today that the Chase United VISA is removing the $10,000 automatic trip insurance when you purchase your travel with the card. Amount has been lowered to $1500 rendering it nearly useless except for airline tickets, perhaps.

The same is true for the MileagePlus Club card. I wonder if Chase is also downgrading the Sapphire Reserve trip insurance.

I just read a news report that Chase Sapphire will be cutting back some benefits, set to take place in late summer.

Here is an article about the Reserve changes...if true, it looks like the Trip Insurance remains in place:

I wonder what happens to old charges where insurance would be in place for cruises after the changes on the United Explorer Card...and perhaps the Sapphire Preferred if that changes also?
