SHIP: SOLSTICE

CABIN #: 8107

DECK #: 8

CLASS: 2B

AREA: aft, forward

BED NEAR: small bedroom near bathroom, bedroom with double bed on the far side of the cabin

QUIET?: YES

BALCONY VIEW: port

BALCONY SIZE: About 1.5 times larger than normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The cabin was massive and both bedrooms had enough room, the smaller cabin with the bunk beds would be a bit squishy with 2 teenagers, but with little kids it's fine, full wardrobe to use. The living area in the cabin was great, so much unutilized space though, 1 couch with a small table, no big dinning table, a bench on the left wall near the balcony, big window in the main cabin as well as the bedroom with the double bed.

As it is right at the front of the ship you do feel the ship move a fair bit, the coat hangers clanged in the wardrobe. Quite a walk from the elevator and stairs but no noise from people or activities going on, plus it means you are getting your exercise!

Gym is 4 floors up, so easy to get there and the solarium and pool, dinning room and buffet are at the far end of the ship to the cabin, but again if you walk more you can eat/drink more :)

Great family cabin, if there was 5 of you in there using the 1 bathroom would be an issue, but there is plenty of room for everything else in there.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 2125

DECK #: 12

CLASS: S2

AREA: Mid-Aft

BED NEAR: bathroom

QUIET?: Most of the time, just occasional noise from the Oceanview Cafe

BALCONY VIEW: Overhang and a support beam in the middle of the balcony

BALCONY SIZE: Large, contains two loungers, two footrests, and a table

WIND A PROBLEM?:No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: There is a pole in between the bed and the wall that I bumped into several times over the first few nights. I eventually shoved the bed over toward the sofa and that helped. There was something loose in the wall that banged incessantly on bouncy nights, so bring your earplugs.

Also, after we departed the Hawaiian Islands, we lost our cold water - there was plenty of cool/cold water elsewhere on the ship. Our butler told us that several cabins around us had the same issue, but it was never fixed.

SHIP: SOLSTICE

CABIN #: 1651

DECK #: 12

CLASS: AQUA

AREA: Starboard

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: NO!!! This cabin is opposite a crew door that is used by room service starting very early in the morning. Carts rattle as they go over the threshold and it's noisy. In addition, the soundproofing on this ship is lacking and we were very aware that the person in the next cabin had a cold and cough with nose blowing and other body sounds very audible. We've sailed on Eclipse and Equinox, both S Class ships, and never experienced a noise issue. The ship was fully booked and guest services could not move us elsewhere.

BALCONY VIEW: No obstruction

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:See above. I won't book this ship again.

Ship : Reflection

Deck: 11

Cabin#: 1665

Class: S1

Starboard or port: Port, corner aft

Bed near: bathroom

Quiet Cabin: Yes. Corner aft S1s have the little foyer, which we like. And we love the side round window because it lets in a lot of light.

Balcony view: window washing equipment perched to the right but didn’t bother us.

Balcony size: Good sized table, 2 reclining chairs & foot stools. We love the corner view.

Wind: No problem

Any specific problems: we noticed a bit of soot but never complained. I mean, other than cleaning it daily it’s going to reappear.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 2102

DECK #: 12

CLASS: AQ1

AREA: Forward Starboard

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes, occasional noise from above - not bothersome

BALCONY VIEW: great views - in the Med, had amazing views of ports - Acropolis, Santorini cable car, etc.

BALCONY SIZE: normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We had an excellent experience in this cabin. We had relatives in the 1204 and opened the balcony and had many great breakfasts and cocktails out there. It is an open balcony without overhang so enjoyed the sun. It ended up being very private (last cabin on starboard side) and quiet (under the far corner of the Solarium - very occasional chairs moving above briefly). We were close to the Spa and Persian Garden and the elevator. As usual, not a fan of S Class storage in non-suites.

SHIP: Equinox:

CABIN: 1649

DECK: 11

CLASS: C2

AREA: Port near aft

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Pretty good. There is a support pole on one side but it never bothered us.

BALCONY SIZE: Standard

WIND A PROBLEM?: Nope

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Nope

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We were a bit worried because we read here that there was a crew door across the hall and it was very loud. There is a crew door across the hall, but honestly it was pretty quiet. Occasionally you’d here a cart coming out of there, but the crew tried very hard to be quiet coming out of there. I would have no problems staying in this room again.

Ship: Equinox

Cabin # 6210

Deck # 6

Class: Balcony

Bed near: Bathroom

Quiet: A lot of popping noises when the ship was moving. We got used to it after a while, but I could see where the noise could really bother others trying to sleep.

BALCONY VIEW: Partial life boat obstruction, but it didn't bother us.

BALCONY SIZE: larger balcony near the hump.

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

Comments: Balcony is awesome. You can sit close to the door and avoid the sun.

SHIP: Eclipse

CABIN #: 2114 and 2115 (our friends on the Port side)

DECK #: 12

CLASS: Sky Suite

AREA: Mid-Ship - Starboard

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Mostly

BALCONY VIEW: Good, though this stateroom is located directly behind the bump out. Views looking toward the front are more difficult.

BALCONY SIZE: Good

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

We did occasionally hear noises from above. A lite rolling sound from cleaning carts or heard footsteps if a passenger was wearing heels. The stateroom is located beneath the entrance to the Ocean View Cafe.

We did not hear these noises anytime other than during waking hours. And they were not enough to annoy us. You get used to them after a day.

Note: We sleep with a White Noise machine which may have helped any sounds during the night. Also, we are early risers and fairly early to bed. ;)

We heard no noise from the hallway even though there was a service door down the hall. Never heard neighbors slamming doors, which is a problem when booking in a stateroom class below the Suite category. The Suite doors appear to be more soundproof. In addition, there is not another stateroom door right next to yours.

We would book this stateroom again.

SHIP: Eclipse

CABIN #: 1405

DECK #: 10

CLASS: Concierge

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes, shares a lobby with suite next door. This lobby has a separate lockable door. Cabins have separate entrance door and there is total privacy with both cabin. However if someone would like to book both, it would be a good idea (two families, parents/kids).

BALCONY VIEW: Aft, great views.

BALCONY SIZE: A bit smaller, cabin width exactly.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No.

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Some soot on the floor occasionally, but it was washed and cleaned out almost every day.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We sailed in May 2018 and the cabin has a bad odour inside which you notice when you walk in, but get used to when inside. The carpet was washed/cleaned and airconditioning filters changed, but it did not help the situation permanently. Bathroom did not have the smell or the bed area. Odor did not stick to clothes. We used an air freshner in the cabin.

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 1006

DECK #: 10

CLASS: Concierge

AREA: FWD

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Partially obstructed view forward from bridge

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Nice room. Only concern is balcony privacy due to proximity to bridge wing. Although this was entertaining to watch as they docked the ship.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 8228

DECK #: 8

CLASS: 1A

AREA: Mid

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent

BALCONY SIZE: This is a forward facing "bump out" cabin, so the balcony is extra deep.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Great cabin. The balcony is angled forward, so you get a view looking ahead and to the side. Only downside is you can't see straight back, but that didn't matter to us. Because of the bump, the balcony was extra deep and we had plenty of room.
