Cruising into Quebec City

Hi,

Two of us arriving in Quebec City on RCL on Monday October 8, 2018. Afternoon flights available were $110 each more than Tuesday flights. We will be staying overnight, flying out on Tuesday at 4:30 PM.

1) Have reserved a car in Quebec City to be dropped off at the airport for a minimal drop off charge. Looks to be about the same as the taxi fare to the airport. Plan to walk around the old city and pick up car in the afternoon. Will store luggage at the port until we have car. Is this reasonable plan?

2) Having a car allowed for booking a hotel outside the old city area in Levis for a reasonable rate.

3) Any suggestions for things we should see in our short time available? Any recommendations for local food/restaurants that we can get to?

1) Sounds like a good plan. Quebec City is very walkable, lots of things to see and do and tons of restaurants.

2) Staying in Lévis makes no sense. It's across the river from Québec City, making it close as the crow flies, but by car you need to either take the ferry across (added expense) or drive a loooong way around to go cross the bridge. And you'll be far from any places you will want to visit that day. Better to look for a place near the airport - there are several moderately-priced hotels in the area, with lots of restaurants and shopping.
