mini suite sofa

Does anyone know what kind of pull out sofa's are in the mini suites on Regal Princess? Is it a normal pull out sofa or is it more like a futon sofa ( that lifts up and drops open)? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Normal pull out sofa but small in size and the mattress is very thin. If the person is small enough, they may want to request the bed to be made on the sofa and not the bed.

It’s a pull out sofa, but only good for a single person, maybe a teenager.

It isn't the full length of a twin bed unless extended out. To make up a bed on the couch, it would need to be for a short person.

Someone suggested to me to use an air mattress instead of the sofa bed... wondering if anyone has done that and how that actually would work?

There may be different varieties. We were on the Grand in June 2017 and the way they made the sofa bed looked more like a twin than a traditional pull out couch (but I didn't look closely). I do know my 6', 23 year old son was comfortable. The room steward took care of everything!

Our sofa bed, when pulled out and made up, was the length of a twin bed, but wider. It was not as wide as a full, and the mattress portion was more narrow than the couch--the steward padded the mechanism with pillows from the couch on the first few nights. The mattress was thing and far more firm than the new bedding. This was April 2018.

 

THe couch itself, when folded up as a couch, was shorter than a standard bed. Thus, if you slept on the couch without extending it into a "bed,", you'd have to be short.

I have slept on the pull out sofa's several times and they are just fine as far as I am concerned - I am 5'9" - for a very tall person it could be a length issue

Pull out sofa. Good for adult or child 6’6” or less.

This was there first cruise and they loved it.

 

They like to pick out their own clothes each morning so the pile in their cabin made it easier. We had a wonderful cabin steward who was well taken care of for the condition of their cabin each day.

Slept on a sofa bed in our mini-suite, pulled out on a 15 night to Hawaii last year. Was totally fine/comfortable!

 

Edit: It's not like a futon. It's a regular pull out couch type.

This was there first cruise and they loved it.

we have done this for children and small mattresses and cots but not an adult- I would prefer to ask for egg crate and extra mattress pads vs air mattress on floor- for space reasons and comfort but JMO

We were told that the egg crates were eliminated when they got the new bedding. ymmv

It would be tight in a balcony or mini suite cabin unless you deflated it and re-inflated it every day. We were in an owner’s suite on the Pacific traveling with our daughter and her gay best friend. They needed separate sleeping accommodations so we brought on board an inexpensive air mattress with built in pump. We left it inflated out of the way against free space on a wall during the day. It was cold on the floor of the cabin during the night and several blankets were neede.

I've slept on the couch many a time to escape my wife's snoring. With enough motivation (and her snoring can certainly provide it), an adult can certainly sleep on that couch as-is with little more than a blanket (or something that passes as a blanket) and some of the pillows on the couch...

Has your DW been checked for sleep apnea? I use a CPAP now and no more snoring. The machine doesn’t make any noise, either.
