Meet and Mingle Experts HELP

Recommended Posts

I am in awe of the 225 people showing up, that's fabulous! We are on the Sun next Monday and I have about 35 signed up so I expect 20 or so to join. I am doing a gift exchange and slot pull. I am trying to figure out if we need anything else to do! I'm so excited!

We are doing our first NCL cruise in 12 days (cannot wait!), and are going to the Meet and Greet, where there will be a gift exchange with the concept being gadgets, etc., that would be useful on a cruise. Having never done this before, does anyone have any suggestions for me as far as gifts are concerned? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, useful gadgets on a cruise. I'm thinking straws, lanyards, travel size items, oh how about a flashlight?

We usually do items that represent your state!

I totally agree. I love meeting new people! This will be my 3rd M&G and I always enjoy spending sea days with fellow CC'ers! Still friends with many of them as well, it really does help make our vacations enjoyable!

I am still in contact with a couple, well the gal anyway I met at the first M&G I did. That was in 2002. At that time we didn't even have formal M&Gs but we did get together a couple of times during the week.

One useful gadget that people don't generally think about is an electroluminescent night light. You can pick up a 2 pack for less than $5 at Wal-mart.

These are great to have...especially if you are in an inside cabin.

Heard back from NCL yes its at District Brew House noon first sea day. They didn't respond if they would donate any items for raffle, nor free beer/wine :(

We were served finger foods and different beer samples. No bottles or other items from the Brewhouse for raffling, but did get two bottles of wine from the casino during the slot pull.

It may take a day or two to reply. They will likely give you a time and date for The District Brewhouse, they will be looking for a head count. As the sail date got closer, I would keep them updated on any addition numbers of attendees....it may get hectic trying to track everything, but don't sweat it, it will all workout. I have nothing to gauge by, being I was on my first cruise, but our M&M on the June 3rd sailing was great, met so many people.....I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Beer Belly: Wanted to be at your "meet and greet" on June 4, but was in bed most of the day in my cabin. Motion sickness? Don't know, but several other people complained about being sick that day. Anyhow, how did the "meet and greet" go? About how many people turned out? How about the slot pull? Also, did you end up doing the cabin crawl? Wasn't that a great cruise!

Barb !......I was wondering where you were, they said you dropped off the name tags and left (Thanks for the tags). I have nothing to gauge the Meet & Mingle being my first cruise, be it seemed like a good crowd....filled the Brewhouse. Robin and Scott did a fantastic job at the Slot Pull, everybody walked away with $8 from the pull, and a couple of folks won more $$ from a raffling of the two jackpots ($3 & $2 pp entry) and the Casino gave two bottles of Wine, which also was raffled. The Cabin Crawl also we well, although not many takers (beautiful day out), and we did get to see some high end Cabins.....and at the end, my Cabin was the last stop.....almost walked in on Terri (Boss Lady) getting ready to put on her bathing suit:eek::')

Actually, my daughter dropped off the name tags. Was too sick to walk. A little later (after I got my balance) she walked me up to the Garden Cafe and I had some Jello then spent the rest of the day/evening in bed. Sorry I missed everything. Sounds like you all had a good time. Thanks again for organizing the Meet and Greet.
