Celebrity Reflection Internet Speed

Been a few years since we sailed Celebrity. Have done RCCL 2X and Princess once since our last Celebrity cruise.

RCCL internet - super fast....just like at home.

Princess internet - super slow.....like 1998 dial up connection.

Where would Celebrity Reflection rank?

Anybody?

I have had the Xcelerate service twice in the last year - Equinox in Caribbean and Silhouette Transatlantic. I experienced speeds up to 2MB/sec (note MB not Mb), so really good. This is under ideal conditions. With many passengers having internet as a perk, you will have times where there are lots of users online - service does get impacted before supper, for example. Under good conditions, Skype or Netflix is no problem. I even watched NHL hockey playoffs this spring, although with time changes while crossing the ocean, the novelty wore off pretty quickly with games happening at 3 am!

You will notice a delay when press buttons that send a reply - your signal needs to go up to a satellite and down to Miami (~50,000 miles) before it hits the internet, but once it starts streaming data, it is really fast.

Bottom line, I believe the technology on Celebrity is the same as that used by Royal Carib., so you should be happy.

Was on the Reflection in November. I was able to stream Netflix to my Roku stick with no problems.

Just was on Reflection last month. Internet was terrific. I streamed CNN for a little bit each day/night with no troubles. A little lag on a couple of VOIP calls, but that happens most anywhere.
