Check in

If you do the on line check in, it will save you time in the terminal. No, you won't "just walk onto the ship." You'll go to a desk where all your stuff will already be in DCL's computers, they will take your security photo, look at your documents, and issue your KTTW card.

If you do not do on line check in, you'll fill out a form at a table in the terminal and take that to the same desk. You'll stand there while the person at a computer terminal types in the information that you've just written on the form. And you'll go thru the same steps as above. While you are taking this extra time, your kids are getting antsy, and you are holding up everyone in line behind you.

There is no negative to doing on line check in. And regardless of whether you do it in advance or not, DCL will keep your information in their computer and many of the fields will self populate on your next cruise...so you'll only have to re-enter that info if there has been a change.
