Best way to get to Houston to Galveston & Back?

What is the best way to get to Galveston from Houston Airport or the hotel and back to the airport? I know I can use Uber or Lyft but looks like they charge a surcharge leaving the port and can be expensive.

Also, there are 2 airports in Houston, IAH (Intercontinental) and HOU (Hobby). Hobby is mostly Southwest Airline and is about 45 minutes from Galveston. IAH is at least 75 (or more) minutes away.

HOU is what I'm going to be flying in.

I find Galveston Express to be the best option but here's a breakdown of the different options and costs

It looks like Galveston Express is $30 to the pier, and $35 back if I want to go before noon. Royal Caribbean charges $60 round trip. What’s the advantage to booking independently? Or to using RCCL? If we use royal do we still claim bags at pier or do they transfer directly to airport and we get them there?

We used GM limousine service for transfer from IAH Houston to cruise terminal and it was amazing service. Very personal service so we enjoyed better than cruise line transportation. On your time schedule. Cost is close to that of two people on cruise line transportation. Ghazi was awesome from booking to drop off at airport.
