Where did you find that the Venchi offerings are not included in the all inclusive packages? Not that I'm surprised just hadn't read that.

Just something other posters have said in other threads. Don't have a quote for you right now :(

We have an Aurea room booked in March and a couple of questions--

1. The listings show the various drink packages but no reference to upgrades, which I've heard are available on other ships. Would we be able to pay the $8/day difference to upgrade from our included classic package to the premium?

2. Assuming we are able to upgrade, I see the premium package includes snacks and drinks from the cabin minibar... so what will we find in the minibar?

3. With the premium package, we could order any drinks/wines that have asterisks next to them, as long as the alcohol is not "super premium," correct?

4. We are big fans of mudslides, which I didn't see on any menu but is a pretty commonly available drink on cruises-- I assume that would be included with the classic package?

Typing this up has suddenly made me very thirsty... ;p

Good morning! I've emailed some of my PR contacts at MSC to ask whether Venchi items are included in the drinks packages. (For those asking about the difference between packages, I've been working with the line to update our drinks packages article, as they made some changes to them this past summer.) I've also asked for clarification on which restaurants are included with black cards. I'll share all of this when I hear back.

Hi guys. I've been asked on another thread for photos of bar menus from Seaside. Rather than posting them there, I'm starting a new thread since there are so many pictures. If anyone has any that I missed, please feel free to add! (Unfortunately I didn't get any shots of the Champagne Bar menu or the one from The Haven or the Garage Club. My guess is that the last two are similar to what's offered at other bars onboard, but I'm not positive.)

I'll start with the Sports Bar:

I’ve just found the following in MSC’s 2018/19 online brochure

5316bacc524f8159977f3c71e80f42cd.jpg

It’s interesting that Venchi is mentioned as the gelato available in the Gelataria on Seaside as well as Fantasia & Musica class ships, (which are covered by the basic drinks package) without reference to the Venchi venue which seems to me will be very similar to the Jean Philippe venue on Meraviglia. Gelato is covered by the drinks package on Meraviglia, yet the ship is not listed under the ‘Gelateria’ heading. I’ll be interested in reading the response that Ashley gets.

I know where I will be visiting for some drinks! There are several I would like to try!
You do realize that you will have to have the premium package to enjoy those drinks. Just about all of the liquors involved are from the premium list with one asterisk. Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire, Hendricks, Patron Silver, etc. It seems like in general, the cut off is 6.00 according to the liquor neat list that has been posted on line. Anything less would be included and anything more would not, since the liquors with one asterisk have a starting price of 6.25 with Jack Daniels Edited by SNJCruisers

Many thanks for sharing, we're just in the normal Aurea package, am I correct in saying that anything without an asterisk is included?

Tony

That's correct! :)
There is no way that the drinks that are listed on the Welcome Bar menu @ 9.00 each can be included since the majority of them all contain asterisked alcohols. Not making a notation on this menu letting cruisers know that you'll need the premium package to indulge unless you're paying a la carte will add to the confusion which seems to be prevalent with MSC from what I have read and inferred.

Thank you so much for all the time and work you have to list the menus and answer questions.

But, I'm so confused LOL

I'm in the YC. Can I order any drink without a fee?

Inside the confines of the YC, yes. Elsewhere on the ship at other bars, everything is covered except the super premium alcohols with two asterisks.

Yes I do, I will just pay as I go for any of the "fancy" drinks and use my drink coupons for my G&T's and wine. Bombay Sapphire is $6.00 at the Atrium Bar but $6.50 at the Casino Bar. Guess I know where I will be going for my G&T's.

Not everything is included in the YC enclave. There are super premium items for a charge there, too.

Thank you both. So, anything that does not have two asterisks is included for YC guests throughout the ship.

Easy enough. Now on to the gelato :loudcry:

Talking about gelato...make sure you try an affagato, when they take vanilla gelato and pour espresso over it. Yum.

There will definitely be a gelato station onboard. What's to be confirmed is if the menu in the Venchi venue will be a non-inclusive of any packages one.

Oh my! Sounds heavenly! If there is a sign explaining it and what it is, I'll remember and order it!

So what's included in the drink packages are based on the price of the drink... And the drink prices are different depending on what bar you are in?
