AARP Gift Cards

You can apply the gift cards to your sail and assign account at or after embarkation.

You can also purchase cruise cash to apply to your on-board account prior to sailing, but it is non-refundable so it's important to buy no more than you are sure you will use.

If you have cruise cash left over, just go to casino on the last night and cash out which makes it refundable..

If you use a gift card and have some left over, will they give it back to you as a gift card?

Yes, the refund will be as another gift card although I've read here on CC that if the balance is really low they might mail you a check. But I cannot vouch for that personally as we've received gift cards post-cruise for the credit balance.

So if you have $50 left on your sail and sign card you can go to the casino and cash it out (they will give you a gift card)...am I reading that right??? I want to use aarp gift cards to buy cruise cash bar cards (then I put those cards on our sail and sign cards, correct).

No, sorry if my answer was misleading about the gift card refund for a credit balance. If you use the casino method to cash out your credit balance, the casino will give you cash not a gift card. You will get a gift card in the mail post-cruise if you have a credit balance on your account that was the result of applying gift cards as OBC and do NOT cash out in the casino prior to the end of the cruise. As to the Cruise Cash, that is non-refundable so you either spend it on board, cash it out in the casino or forfeit it.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just got my order in yesterday. Logged in to carnival and applied these babies right to my cruise balance, They saved me $350.00 off of my cruise cost. I will probably order more to use onboard for our onboard expenses and excursions.

I had a hard time finding where to register for the FREE account, so here is the link: https://secure.aarp.org/applications/user/register?custom=R4G&response_type=code&client_id=0oaibh2dgq9oNzkUy2p6&redirect_uri=https://rewards.aarp.org/&scope=basic_user_info%20basic_membership_info%20basic_address%20advanced_membership_info%20advanced_user_info%20advanced_address&state=login

Google-AARP rewards for good and sign up from that page. You don’t need to be a certain age and you don’t need to pay for membership. Just earn points to use toward discounted gift cards.
