First full day in Delphi, studying Plato's "Sophist" at the European Community Cultural Centre, and we took the bus down to the port of Itea, where the Greek ships had sailed for Troy some time back on an eventful cruise.

Glorious sunny day, a bit of Saharan dust in the air, and we sat down after a waterfront stroll to have a cold drink and a bit of the local tucker. We'd spent the past two days flying from Canberra and otherwise on the road, the morning having Plato start to tie our brains in knots and it was good to just sit down and relax for a bit.

There was a ship in the offing, too small to be a cruiser, and I watched it with some interest. A private yacht, I thought, belonging to some zillionaire.

It dodged around the harbour for a bit, and then came in to tie up. I took a couple of photographs, but didn't realise until I looked at them on a proper screen that she was the Star Breeze.

I'm guessing the passengers who leisurely disembarked found transport up the hill to the historic site at Delphi.

Just thought I'd share the pix. Not often one gets to see one's ship at sea.
