Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)

I got the impression that they don’t have actual casino rates anymore. I did get some discounts applied to my cruise the other day but they called them promotions and said they didn’t offer special rates any longer.

I got an excellent casino rate on a an Alaskan in 2019 on Ovation a few weeks ago. It seems to be hot or miss though.

I had someone book the same as me for $800 more same day. I’m not saying they aren’t giving promotions but they claim to no longer have actual casino rates. I used to consistently be able to get a rate that was about 54% off list or better. Not the case anymore.

The Club Royale new Program Benefits sheet calls out "Club Royale Exclusive Casino Rates or Complimentary Cruise Offer" as well as "Tier Exclusive Rates for Family and Friends for additional Staterooms". I read this as casino rates would continue to be available. My limited experience has been that the casino booked me at a better rate than I could get doing a mock booking on the RCL web site. Received a discount that was more than the value of my future cruise certificate. Hoping it continues this way. George

Hello all!

I am being lazy and want to get a cruise in before June. Somewhere in my saved file I have the list of events for the casino, but can't find it. Can someone post a link or a schedule of events. I have also been getting the offers on the comped cruises, I just got.one for dates through April. I would really like something in May if I find something that works with my schedule. I can usually travel on short notice pretty easily within a month or so. The biggest factor is airfare as I have to fly from Wisconsin. Thanks all in advance!

Mary

I have a comped cruise coming up in march, I always have the VIP sticker for free drinks on my card, my last cruise in December was a light cruise gambling wise and curious what the actual amount of points need on most recent cruise to re-qualify for the vip sticker? ive heard alot of different numbers around here.

We were told on oasis in Dec that as long as we had 1000 points on our last cruise we would get the sticker again. If we hadn't then as soon as we get 1000 on that cruise go back to the casino host and she would put the sticker on.

Hopefully this is still the case.

I recommend you simply call Club Royale and ask them if they have any offers for you in May. That's the easiest thing to do. 888-561-2234. I have a calendar with the events on it and according to this calendar, the May 2018 events are:

May 13 - Liberty - $15K slot tournament

May 26 - Anthem - Golf Tournament

May 28 - Empress - Destination Havana

This is all that I am aware of.

Good luck

Since your cruise is in March - before the official implementation of the new tier system - I'm guessing that they are still going by the rule that samlomax suggested - a minimum of 1000 points on your last cruise. After the implementation of the tier program, my understanding is that once you are placed in a certain tier, if that tier qualifies you for free drinks, then you will remain in that tier (or move up to a higher tier, if your points warrant) for some preset period of time. How will it actually work ? No one knows at this point.

I’m hoping to qualify again in April. From mid pack to the bottom in one cruise.

Anyone has experience with not being able to go on a free cruise? Already booked and free certificate used. Is the certificate lost? Or could the second person in the cabin still go — Casino Royale vip but not the certificate holder? Questions, questions.

Certificate is probably lost but you should call Club Royale and confirm. We were unable to make it to a Canada / New England cruise out of Boston last September due to Hurricane Irma here in Florida. Tampa airport was closing and we had to stick around to assist my elderly parents. We got back port fees, taxes, cancelled excursions, drink package, and prepaid Internet. Fortunately we were already booked on a Med cruise in October and picked up another certificate that we used to book another Canada / New England cruise for this coming September. George

Thanks. Still wondering if the certificate holder can’t go, can the second person in the cabin go solo? I know this can happen when one has paid full fare.

If I remember correctly I read the certificate holder, or person to whom the offer is made, has to be present, but I agree with the previous poster, I would call Casino Royale, can't hurt to ask.

I think the second person can go and the cert holder is a no show. I’m curious to hear how this works out. The rep on the phone may not give the correct answer.

Told 1000pts qualifies you for drinks next cruise last week. Told that cruise certificates can not be combined for same person. But if two different people can be combined.

Going on cruise next week with wife and plan on using her cruise card for slots (she does not gamble) so she will get future cc which we can combine. Anyone see a down side on this??

Are you planning on using your card till you get a cc then using your wife's after to get her one too? One downside is that your points will be down so you may get a smaller cert than normal, but combined yours and wife's may be worth more. Sone people I know play one machine together so combone their money, gamble using 1 card then after they've got the 2400 points then gamble on the other card for the rest of the cruise. Whoevers card is in the machine is the person who sits in front of the machine so casino can't tell em they're doing wrong. Was talking to them for ages last cruise and they say they do it every time.

Will your wife be with you in casino? If not, I wonder what would happen when you hit a jackpot with her card in machine? :D:D:DNo idea, just trying to consider downside for you. Good luck!

Yes, the casino staff will come over with the tax papers to fill out, if jackpot amount is over $1200. Or somewhere around that amount.

Downside potentially comes if you hit a jackpot. If the card being played says Mary and you are not Mary, it can invalidate the jackpot. Not sure how the ship's casino would handle this. George

My husband had some money left on his account and was in bed and it was the last night. I took his card down and asked the casino host if I could play it off. She said yes. I really think since she okayed it there shouldn’t have been a problem if I had hit a jackpot. I asked because I read either on fb or here someone using spouses card and they hit big and the casino refused to pay it.
