Is there an app that lets you use iPhone as "walkie talkie" while on a ship?

:cool:We will be cruising with a group of 17, and it would be great if we could stay in touch while on the ship.

There used to be an app called Cruise Text that did this... but I can't find it.

Is there something like that out there?

Has anyone used it?

Zello is a good walkie-talkie app, but a texting app like Telegram that lets you text to a group may be a better choice. Telegram works better in low signal areas (which you may encounter as you move around the ship and on land). It also uses less bandwidth if that is a concern with your cellular or wifi plans. Also, unless you are going to be wearing an ear piece or head set all the time, texting won't disturb your fellow passengers or share your conversations with them the way that a voice walkie-talkie app like Zello would.

I use both for playing an augmented reality game at times and both work well, but I always use a headset or bluetooth earpiece when using Zello.
