First Time Celebrity Elite

If only one person is elite, can the spouse still go with and enjoy the happy hours

Yes anyone staying in the same cabin can attend all functions and dining room that their cabin partner is entitled to.. That is for Elite the nightly cocktail function, priority tendering but supposedly they must also be accompanied b the Elite member but on some ships that isn't strictly enforced. They are not entitled to internet or laundry priviledges though

As mentioned in the previous post, each Elite passenger gets 90 minutes. For me, the important distinction on Celebrity is that the 90 minutes is available over the length of the cruise. So, a quick download of emails every day or so could be accomplished with fewer than 90 minutes on a 14-day cruise (download online, read offline). On RCL they gave us 24 consecutive hours, which I found to be almost worthless (I do want the internet at 3:00 AM).

Further ensure that you log off when you are finished to preserve unused minutes. If you don't your minutes will run down until they expire

Wow, that's the first time I've heard about no priority tendering for Elite CC members. I hope that does not become a trend

When there are too many people above Elite and on ship's tours they may not provide priority tendering for Elite members. There are some cruises where almost everyone is Elite and many are above that.

The lounge is a public room or restaurant, normally. Breakfast is often in Tuscan Grille, and evening cocktail hour is in Sky lounge. Tendering is usually in the Rendezvous, but you will be told where and when to meet. They get ship tours off, then the host/hostess will lead you from Rendezvous down to the tenders. It is an INCREDIBLY handy perk and has saved us hours of time.

Please more information re Elite breakfast what times and is the menu different to Breakfast in the MDR Thank you Aussie

Suggest you make contact with Captains Club host as soon as practicable as you get on board to ensure that your cabin mate is recognbised for the above benefits. One doesn't want to get into a discussion at an entry door

It's a continental breakfast. Cold meats, salmon, cheeses, sliced fruits, yogurt, pastries. No hot food so quite different from MDR.

Drinks include juices, caffe latte, cappuccino, smoothies, mimosas, bloody Mary's.

What time is the Elite breakfast dining room open thank you Aussie

We did our first cruise as Elites last fall on the Constellation. At first we were just going to do breakfast in the MDR so we could get hot, fresh cooked stuff and table service but on the second morning we went down at 8:30am to find a long line for the MDR and set out to find the Tuscan Grille where the Elite breakfast was being served. We found a nice selection of fruit plates, cheese plates and bagel with lox along with specialty coffees and other juices and water. While nothing was hot/cooked it was really nice and peaceful. The Captain's Club hostess was there most mornings making sure everyone was happy and answering questions. It is well worth checking out, they served from 8am to 9:30am.

Prioity Tendering, We were told to just come to designated lounge when ever we wanted and the Captain's Club staff would escort us to the tenders. We just went on and did not worry about others. Sometimes rank has it privileges.

The Elite Cocktail hour was held every night except the first night and the night of the Senior Officers Party. It was always in Cosmo's aka The Sky Lounge. The place is big, it was never crowded and my diet coke was always fresh and cold. The snacks were nice, a well above what you get in the afternoon in Concierge Class. There were usually any number of officers around to help out, answer questions etc. The Captains Club staff was there each night too, again to check ID, check the dress code and in general be helpful. We were never offered drink coupons. The room was never crowded and some suggested the proliferation of beverage packages has cut down on attendance. Maybe, maybe not but we did not have a package and we enjoyed visiting for a bit before dinner each night.

Will be sailing on the Constellation this fall and are Diamond on RCL so we are Elite for Celebrity.

We did not choose a drink package, because it just isn't worth it for us, but was hoping we could have a few glasses of wine at the nightly cocktail hour. Can you confirm that is doable?

I also hoping they might have an elite section in the main dining room, like Royal has. Was so nice to not have to wait in along line for a sit down breakfast.

Yes you can. Just like sailing with RC the Beverage Package has nothing to do with the evening upper tier level gathering. The cocktail hour is from 5 to 7 except the first night and the night of the Senior Officers Party. Did you contact Celebrity's Captains Club Desk and give them your C&A numbers?

Before I booked, I joined the Captain's Club and it apparently linked my Royal Caribbean info to their system because after joining, it automatically put me at Elite. Then when I booked the cruise, I just gave them my Captain's club numbers.

I did call the other night just to confirm that they had me as Elite

Celebrity does not offer a dedicated section in the Main Dining Room at any meal based upon loyalty tier...

The ships are generally far smaller in terms of double-occupancy guest capacity than are nearly all of those operated by Royal Caribbean [Constellation will have ~2200 guests]... With so many breakfast options for full or continental breakfast [The Oceanview Café (the buffet with custom-order stations; somewhat equivalent to Windjammer) for all guests, separate menu-based restaurants for Suite and AquaClass guests, the Coffee Hour for Elite/Elite+/Zenith Captain's Club members (continental plated service--occasionally a buffet--with specialty coffees and a number of alcohol-based "Eye Openers"), the Spa Café--available to all guests--for light/healthy options (nothing cooked), Room Service (full breakfast menu; no service charge between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM], it is not my impression that Celebrity needs to follow Royal Caribbean's "loyalty-based separate line" practice...

Though surely there are peak times/non-peak times associated with all dining venues based upon personal preference and ship schedule, I've never seen a particularly long line for breakfast seating in the Main Dining Room on any Celebrity ship... The process moves along quickly...

Hope you enjoy your first Celebrity cruise!

Thank you. Very much looking forward to it. Will be nice to have "new" names and places instead of the old Schooner, Windjammer, Crown Lounge, etc.

Finding as I get older, I don't need all the bells and whistles when I am going on a port intensive cruise in Europe. Mostly tired after a long day. That is also why we did not choose the liquor package, because we just didn't drink more than 1-2 glasses of wine a day on our last cruise out of Barcelona. And we will carry on two bottles of wine to supplement our Elite drinks available at night.

We find the benefits on X overall to be better than RCCL, particularly internet and laundry.

RCCL charges way less than Celebrity for their internet though. With the Diamond (or Diamond+) discount it's not very expensive at all in comparison.

  • 2 weeks later...

What happens on Celebrity when you go on as Select but will earn Elite while on the cruise? I've talked to CC and they said the Elite would not kick in until after the cruise you earn it. On another line in December, they told us that we would get the higher CC level ON the cruise where it is earned. Has anyone had this experience on Celebrity? Is it a ship by ship basis with the CC crew on board?

thanks
