Les Saintes

We will be sailing in a few weeks with a stop scheduled in Les Saintes. We enjoyed these islands last year onboard Star Legend. I understand the islands we hit by Maria and was wondering if any people on recent cruises can comment in the state of the islands. Were the shops open? Was Fort Louis open? Anybody can comment on Pompierre beach? Thanks

Don't know about the particular area you are mentioning but Les Saintes are not bad at all. Take a look at the following two video published January 1st, 2018.

Some of the restaurants/bars on the waterfront were closed in mid-December, but they appeared to be close to opening. The Boat house on the hill lost its roof. Most of the shops in town were open. You could see roof damage on houses around the bay. I don't think anything is going to damage the fort...;)

Did you make it to Pompierre beach? Looks like it’s been beaten up pretty bad.

No, we didn't go to a beach. We had a nice lunch at La Saladerie, where we have eaten every time we have been to Les Saintes over 20 years. :)

Just returned from Ilsde Saints on the Surf. Island as beautiful as ever, Pompierre Beach glorious. No signs of damage. Happy sailing, it was a great cruise.
