Hello, my husband and I will be doing an 11 day Southern Italy/Croatia cruise in May. One of our ports is Bari. We cannot decide between 2 excursions/sites there. The first one is The city of Matera, also called Town of Sassi or Stone Town. The other is Alberobello with it's Trulli houses. I think we are leaning towards Matera but the photos I've seen of the Trulli are also intriguing. Any input is appreciated.

We were there in May. Pulgia is wonderous. Fabulous food and wine and everywhere you look amazing art and sights. I love art and the cave art of Matera is fabulous. It is a stunning town and has fascinating history. I just returned from a WS cruise let me write more about towns and the city of Bari which is beautiful. Alberobello is pretty but becoming touristy in a bad way, junk in the little homes. Ypu can see the Trulli on the road ways have your driver drive by a couple. Will write in a few days need to get my life together. Happy Sailing,
