1986 Christmas Cruise on the Royal Princess, San Juan to Acapulco:

Alan and Alana were part of the Entertainment Team, not Cruise Directors at that point of their career. They performed in an area of the ship that was comparable to the modern ships' Atrium. (Can't recall the name of the venue, but do recall a large photo of Princess Diana on a wall.)

With my cruise history, there are very few individual entertainers or Cruise Directors whom I remember. But, Alan and Alana are among them!

That was the Royal Princess No. 1.

Where I first saw them.

Saw them on another Cruise/Ship; however, can not recall the Ship.

May have been another Royal Princess Cruise.

Yes, that cruise was the original Royal Princess. The Christmas Celebration included a live evergreen strapped to the ship's mast. This, I think, was a very traditional shipboard celebration of the Holiday that I have not seen repeated.

I'll never forget this experience and sight. Crossing the open deck from the Horizon Lounge to the forward superstructure to return to our staterooms on late Christmas Eve, we passed Crew Members heading towards a Party in the Horizon Lounge who wished us a "Merry Christmas". Looking towards the Mast, there was the tree strapped to it.
