In Nassau overnight- Casino opened?

On the NCL board, cruisers just back from the Escape are saying that when they skipped a port (GSC), the ship sailed to Nassau a day early and stayed overnight. What surprised me was that one of them confirmed that the casino opened that evening at 7pm while at Nassau. I was surprised Nassau/Bahamas allowed this. (The thread is 'Just back from the Escape'.)

Has anyone else had an overnight in Nassau that allowed the casino to be open while in port?

Yes on the BA I can confirm on multiple trips that the casino is open at night.

It's also opened while in Bermuda.

I sailed on Royal Caribbean (Majesty) last month with a stop in Nassau that was from noon (I think?) until midnight, and the casino on the ship opened at 7:00pm.

Thanks for your responses! I had read that they had to go through special negotiations with Bermuda to open the casinos in the evening. With Nassau, I'm surprised Bahamas allow it as they have several casinos on the island.

Some older ships are of Bahamas Registry, thus they can remain open in Bahamian ports.

It's also opened while in Bermuda.

NCL pays for a gaming license in Bermuda. Different than the “unexpectant” overnight in Nassau when sea conditions are unfavorable for anchoring and tendering.
