curious we have been on several cruises with Celebrity why are we always pushed upstairs not down. Just wondering why.

Select dining or Traditional dining? On our last Infinity cruise (September 2017) we had SD and we were on the lower level (deck 4) in the MDR.

At least on S class ships, be very happy if you are upstairs with Select Dining. It is much quieter upstairs and much easier to have a conversation.

It all depends on the ship and your dining time. On the M class ships Select Time dining is now on the main floor and fixed is on the upper floor. It has been a while since we did Select on an S-class ship but when we did it was all upstairs and fixed was down stairs. That may have changes in the past two years but they do divide fix and select by floors.

Select is still upstairs on all S class ships.

That is because they have two entrances upstairs and only one downstairs.

This is because Select have to be escorted to their table EVERY meal and assigned can find their own way.

Way too much backup when using just one entrance - like the first night with assigned !!!

They try to best utilize the available dining space on both levels and therefore may switch traditional and select dining locations around, as needed.

In the past, traditional dining was more popular than select, but these days it is often the reverse.

Additionally, when all the tables in select dining are occupied, if they have vacant tables in traditional dining they may seat overflow passengers from select dining on the traditional dining level.
