Nieuw Amsterdam happy hours and good deals

Recommended Posts

Drinks are the same price no matter where you buy them on the ship.

Happy Hour is usually from 4 - 5 in the Ocean Bar and Crow's Nest. There is sometimes another Happy Hour later in the evening in another bar. The daily program will list where and at what time they will be. You buy one drink at regular price and get the second one for $2 -- must be the same drink and not all brands of alcohol are included.

Thanks. Is there a deal whereas you can have a bottle delivered to your cabin?

Yes. There's a room service liquor list. If you want something not on the list, you can ask at any bar. (Maker's isn't on the list.)

Yes -- you can get a bottle of alcohol delivered to your cabin.

You can order through HAL's site -- have your credit card handy as you have to pay for it right away. You can also call Ship Services and order a bottle that way -- 1-800-541-1576 -- again have your credit card handy -- and ask them for an e-mail confirmation.

Or you can wait until you are on the ship and order via cabin service. If you order on embarkation day there may be a wait as the crew are busy with passengers, luggage, etc. And there may or may not be a state tax added depending on where you are sailing from.

We always order alcohol for the cabin so that we can sit lout on the verandah and watch the view and people watch in the ports.

Can you prepare a cocktail from the bottles in your cabin and take them out to other venues?

You have picked up an old post but no matter your question is very relevant.

I take beers back to our cabin from unfinished buckets (five beers) and then take them (or one from the mini bar) with me the next time we venture out. Nobody will likely notice nor care if you make up a drink in your cabin and take it with you. People walk around with drinks all the time, including hot coffees and teas so I can't see why anybody would be worried about a cold drink.

I have noticed your excellent responses, and supreme advice across many threads whilst planning for our upcoming cruise next month....so, many thanks for all of that. Can you advise please what the spirit measures are onboard, as that will help in my package or not deliberations?
