Formal night attire on Royal Caribbean (5 night)

Would it be appropriate for my husband to wear a black dress shirt (with neck tie) and long khaki polo pants to formal night? Feedback is appreciated.:)

Sounds fine.

The tie would be optional as well. The "formal" night dress remains as a suggested attire only and is not enforced. To add, casual attire is fine on any RCI ship on any night in any dining venue.

Dress suggestions are not enforced on Royal, you can wear whatever you want.

What are "polo pants"? I'm picturing the flared chaps for riding polo ponies.

(Psst - I know you meant chinos. LOL).

We used to go all "long gown, full suit" for formal nights but over the last few years, we've relaxed more about our formal night attire. I take dress black slacks and a couple of dressy tops and the men will be wearing slacks and a collared shirt. Makes packing easier and lighter and we feel perfectly comfortable with our decision (and more comfortable in the clothes too).

at RCCL the dress code is only a suggestion it's not mandatory. They will not tell you anything when entering the MDR
