Tampa Port, where to stay?

Hi everyone,

I'm going on a cruise leaving 4/14/18 from the Tampa terminal. Unfortunately, our flight doesn't come in until about 12:30am on 4/14. I have a few questions:

1) Where would you guys recommend staying?

2) How do you get to the hotel?

3) How do you get to the terminal?

The Embassy Suites Convention Center Hotel and the Marriott are very near the cruise terminals.

The taxis from the airport to that area have a standard fare -- I can't remember -- maybe $25 total or $30 total.

We couldn't seem to find a place that had both a an airport shuttle and terminal shuttle. So we booked one with an airport shuttle and we plan on using uber to take us to the terminal. On the uber site you can put in your pickup and destination and they'll give you a quote. Says it'll be about $20.

I can't recall where we're staying (I'm not at home atm) but it's something like Sheraton Suites (there's 3 of us ladies going so we needed a place with 3 beds)

We stay right near the port at the Marriott but it is pricey. Look on hotels.com for a place. Plan on taking cabs for transport.

We've stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Tampa. They have a cruise package with airport and cruise terminal transportation.

We stayed a few times at Marriott Waterside and liked it fine for a fe w days pre and post c ruise. It is c omfortable but not what I would call luxury . it is walk distance to the port.

Pleas also come over to the Florida Departures Board where this question comes up fairly frequently.
