new2cruise Posted January 22, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2018 On Juneau Whale Watch's web site it says that they have 24 and 49 passenger boats. I contacted them and asked how we go about getting the 24 passenger boat rather than the 49 passenger boat. They said just request it. I hate to be a skeptic, but has anyone else had any experience with this? It seems like they charge the same for the tour regardless of which boat you're on. We're looking at this tour because they drop you off at Mendenhall Glacier and have shuttles that run every half hour back to the cruise dock for only $20 more than the whale watch alone. wolfie11 Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2018 They will not run the 24 passenger boat if they have more than 24 passengers signed up for a tour. I'm sure you can request it, but they will use the boat that matches the number of passengers they have. Better to be 25 pax on a 49 pax boat than 24 on a 24 pax boat.....
