Beverage Plan Timing Questions

Can't find details on the HAL site specifying the time the signature (or elite) beverage package 15 drink daily maximum resets. Is it midnight, 6am, noon or 6pm?

And, is one able to use the beverage package for specialty coffees, waters, juices, or even mimosas, on disembarkation morning?

Midnight to midnight. The beverage package does not cover drinks of any kind on embarkation morning. Yes, it does include specialty coffees, water, etc. We had the package on Eurodam a couple of years ago, and were told that only alcoholic beverages were included in the 15/day limit and the others were unlimited, but I believe that is not the case now. We never managed to hit the 15/day limit even with non alcoholic drinks!

Now I'm a little confused.. OP was asking about disembarkation morning, and it makes sense that one wouldn't be able to use the beverage package then, as was previously mentioned, all accounts are closed at midnight prior to the last morning.

But, are you saying that we can't use the package on embarkation morning/day either, which doesn't make sense to me at all? We have the SBP on our upcoming Eurodam sailing, and are very curious about this.

Thanks for the replies.

So to clarify, if we're sitting in the Crow's Nest from 11:30 pm until 12:30 am, our beverages could be tallied in two separate daily maximums?

Definitely not complaining, but since Princess uses a 6 am - 6 am reporting period I thought HAL might as well.

Yes to the specialty coffee and water.

The reset time is based on when the last bar closes. I'd say that 1 am is a good rough estimate.

I had a friend in the BB King club close to midnight (it was a late set). He thought he was close or at his 15 drink limit. He asked the bartender about this and he said he would serve him and put his drink through at 12:05am, and that would reset his 15 drink counter.

We always travel with the SBC and yes it does reset automatically at midnight. The bar registers are tied to the network, so the charge is automatically tied to the clock. BTW, the morning bars (Lido & Seaview) open at 9:00 am and the late bars (around the Casino) stay open as long as guests are gambling and drinking - but frequently not later than 1-ish (it all depends on the ship and the Beverage Manager).

Don't know when HAL starts the new days counting of drinks.

All accounts are closed at midnight before disembarkation. Anything you buy on disembarkation morning is cash only.

On my last cruise, ending January 7, 2018, there was NOTHING available for purchase on Disembarkation morning. I had wanted to get an iced chai or something similar and to give a tip to the barista, but everything was closed and locked up tight. There weren't even bar staff at the Lido for breakfast drinks.

I'm not sure of this was a one-time thing or if the powers that be have decided to stop cash purchases on disembarkation morning fleet-wide. I can see why they would want to stop the cash purchases, it was always a madhouse and someone always wanted to use what ship credit they had left or the last drink on their punch card.

Just got off the Noordam, several waiters were adamant the 15 limit was alcoholic only and were happy to be quoted by name to reception if we had a problem. Only occurred once and front desk was adamant it was all drinks, quoted the names so she went and spoke to bar management and cost was erased from account although she was not happy about it.

I think the HAL beverage package is great value (wine choices could be improved) bur frustrating about the lack of clarity around policy and only way to monitor the drink limit is either in dining room or a manual count at front desk - very amateurish
