Has anyone seen any promotions for new cardholders other than the standard 10,000 pts or $100 dollars? I have one when I applied I believe there was another 5,000 bonus when I applied. Just wondering if there was another promo before DH applies.

I just received an email this weekend for just 10,000 points. Both my husband and I both applied.

So far I have only seen the cash value of the triple points on NCL charges which can be transferred to any other Bank of America credit card.

I've used points to pre-pay DSC, excursions and my onboard charges including CruiseNext certificates ;p

The Bank of America Travel Card gives 1.5 points on all purchases plus triple points for travel purchases through their travel department. Between the two cards, you can accumulate points (cash statement credits) fairly rapidly especially if you cruise NCL or travel often.

Can you combine points from the. Ncl world points mc and the boa visa travel rewards credit cards?

If so, how do you go about and getting them combined?

Yes and the cards do not have to be in the same name. My husband and I each have an NCL card and a BOA travel card, so 4 credit cards. I consolidate the points onto one card on a regular basis.

How do you combine points? What number do you call we have both cards and want to take are points from boa travel rewards visa and apply them to the ncl world points card.. can you provide a phone number for us to call?

Thanks again

I wish had gotten this card sooner. I have 2 cruises booked and plan on maxing out the card in the casino(20k). Taking the cash home and paying off the card. I will get 60,000 points on each cruise. The best thing is that I am Golden in the casino so I save the 3% cash advance fee that the casino normally takes. Has anyone been able to use an upgrade on an already CAS comped room?

Skeeter- does this really work? If you take 20k out from the casino you get 60,000 points?

Good news at least as far and my wife and I are concerned...just used my 30k points to upgrade our March 2019 Panama cruise on the Bliss to an OV (IA to OA), which is a forward cabin on deck 9. We were able to get the initial category upgrade when we purchased through CruiseNext, and with the current pricing we saved $1,860; much thanks for the useful information provided on this forum, as not even my NCL TC knew the ins and outs of the benefits of this card.

The BOA points redemption center main number is (800)434-8313. If they cannot help, I would think they could patch you through directly to the NCL points redemption folks. Hope this helps.

What is the conversion rate travel reward into NCL worldpoints?

Are 100 travel reward points equal to 100 worldpoints?

Do you happen to know if Boa Cash Rewards points can be transferred into NCL worldpoints?

Sorry I dont; have NCL or Travel card, curious about should I apply for those in order earn point for next cruise.

I was very surprised  to find that I did not receive the 3 bonus points per $1 spent on my upcoming NCL cruise in January. I paid for it all using my NCL MC. The problem seems to be that my TA, CruisesOnly, billed it as a payment to themselves rather than a payment to NCL. I received only 8000 points and not the 24000 points that I was expecting. Did anyone else lose all these points just because they booked with a TA instead of booking with Norwegian directly? Will I always have to do without a TA?

Did anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance! Jean

this is the problem with the TA. they should of passed your credit info to NCL and have NCL bill your card. Whenever i book my cruises, the charges come directly from NCL and not my TA

When I book with a TA, I lose a small portion of the credit but certainly not all of it! I talk with them before they charge my card and explain that I want the charge to be from NCL so I get the points. They say something ilke that for their own bookkeeping they have to charge part of it through the TA (usually a few hundred dollars), but the rest is from NCL. In one case I forgot to talk with them about it and the charge came from the TA, but hey gave me a $400 discount to cover the loss of points.

I have a question on tips. If you get points and change them to inboard credits for your cruise, can you use them for tips at the end of the cruise?

The direct answer is no, but it seems to be yes. Many have been able to do so including myself but I have had a couple where it was no, but I had other credit to cover it. It gets into whether its refundable credit or not. It should be as you can convert points to a statement credit.

That is a load of crap and could cause issues. I would call NCL and complain, as you booked and paid with the NCL card thru one of their "Authorized agents".

What if something goes wrong? How do you dispute your charge as it is with the TA not the cruiseline. The loss of those point could be worth thousands if applied right. I would also call the TA and complain.

What they did was defeat the purpose of using the card.

Hmmmm... They didn't do something right. I've dealt with CruisesOnly in the past and also BJ's - they are all owned by World Travel Holdings. If I'm not booking directly with NCL, they are my goto TA. Have you called them and have them explain what happened? I just booked a cruise through BJ's this weekend and it was charged as being through NCL just as expected.

Just did another cross meta upgrade for a cruise on Pride of America. I had booked an O1 and they let me go to a BA. Was hoping for aft but at least this balcony is a good location ... and still saved almost $1k
I have enough points now to do something like this. Did you book direct with NCL or outside TA? If with TA, do you still call NCL for the switch? Thanks!

Excerpt from

WorldPoints® Rewards Terms & Conditions:

Double Cross meta upgrade on 5-day or longer cruise - 60,000 points

Double Cross-Meta upgrade refers to having the option to book a specific Balcony category

for the price of a specific Interior category.

Upgrades vary per ship, sail date, category and cabin capacity.

On July 15th, 2017 I booked the NCL Bliss, 14 day sailing from Los Angeles to Miami (November 3rd, 2018).

At that time, the World Points NCL rep told me to book a Category I-A (inside cabin) at the current price then, when I had 60,000 points, to call again and I would be upgraded to a Category B-A (mid-ship balcony).

This made sense.

However, when I called back a few days ago, after reaching 60,000 points, I was told

“The pricing structure has changed for this sailing”.

The Rep said, to get the B-A, I had to first pay for a I-1(one), which is a family inside, at $200. more per person “voyage fair”, because on this sailing/ship an I-1(not an I-A) is equivalent to a B-A. (?)

Finally : After much argument, I was frustrated with their mumbo-jumbo double-talk

but made the pro-rated change of an additional $400.

In the end saved $1662.00 on the current price of a B-A.

I'll be looking at all of this again.

Anyone know what category to book with the intent to use the 4 category within meta upgrade to get to a B1 Aft Balcony?

Which category oceanview for a cross meta upgrade to a B1?

Which inside category for a double cross meta upgrade to a B1?

And if anyone is interested in knowing this, points can't be used for upgrades in the mini-suites and higher categories. The upgrade program only applies to insides, oceanviews & balconies.

I really wish the written information on this rewards program had more explicit written explanations! ;p

You cannot meta up to an Aft. That is because there is no matching category in their structure. They won't allow you to pay for it either anymore. Meaning you meta up to a balcony and then pay the difference between the costs of both balcony categories so you get the aft. I have 2 cruise coming and it was a no go.

But the value of my double meta was $6000 so I can live with that.:D

Almost never can you use points to upgrade to a B1 aft facing balcony. The terms and conditions specifically exclude it on a couple ships and request is almost always denied on other ships. We were able to do double cross meta upgrade years ago to B1 but ended up taking a cheap upsell to 2 bedroom suite so I didn't get to experience the large deck 10 balcony. I tried on our Panama Canal cruise last year and was denied..... was kind of bummed to find that someone else on the sailing was able to do it. Couldn't really complain because we saved a lot of $$ on that cruise.
