Kids club age groups~silly question

My grandson is almost 6 and would much rather be with the 6-8 year age group based on what the activities are, but because he's 5, can we ask for him to be with the 6 year olds?

you can ask but rarely do they budge and I understand why. If they make one exception they would need to make it for almost everyone. It is like asking if you can vote even though you won't be 18 until the day after the election or can you ask the bar tender to give you a drink today cause your 21st BD is tomorrow and you will be busy or asking them to make an exception and allow your child to start school even if she is not quite meeting the age requirement.

I have heard if the ship isn't terribly full they make an exception but don't expect this to happen.

What age groups does each youth program cater to?

GUPPIES NURSERY

Guppies Nursery: 6 months to under 3 years (Only on the Norwegian Escape)

SPLASH ACADEMY

Turtles: 3* - 5 year olds Seals 6 - 9 year olds Dolphins: 10** - 12 years old (6 - 12 year olds in low season)

ENTOURAGE

Entourage: 13* - 17 year olds

*The minimum age eligible for Splash Academy is 3 years old at the time of sailing, based on the child's date of birth, according to their birth certificate or passport reflected on the ships manifest.

**Refer to FAQ: What do I need to know about the 10-12 year old parent sign-out authorization?

From our first hand experience they WILL NOT make any exceptions, even if the child turns the age required DURING the cruise. It's fine to ask, just don't expect it. There were some parents we've seen throw a fit when told this because their children were split up, but we've come to expect that behavior nowadays!

Does anyone know what the age groups are. My grand daughter is 11 and won't go if she is with the very young kids..

This was a tough age for us too. Our daughter did not want to be with little kids either. Sometimes you get lucky and there is someone focused on the pre-teens who makes it fun for them.
