EDLOS Posted September 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Announcement that there will be Barbecue's on th Lido Deck on Mexican Cruises comes as a surprise as I remember much ado about the discontinuing of Barbecues by U.S. Health Authorities about two years ago on HAL cruises ????? Where did you hear/see this? We are heading on the Mexico cruise in November and would love to have those back. We really enjoyed them before. iflyrc5 Posted September 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Yes - we have enjoyed them in the past on the Caribbean cruises. I hope it is true and includes the Caribbean.
john2003 Posted September 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Maybe they have put in a hand washing station. I seem to remember that was the issue. Sent from my LG-H812 using Forums mobile app

Krazy Kruizers Posted September 24, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2018 I read Kazu's link. They mention that 3 HAL ships will be doing various Mexican cruises. I don't think hand washing stations have been added to all 3 ships if any. Will have to wait for reports to see if the BBQ's really do return to the Mexican cruises. Rare Copper10-8 Posted September 24, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2018 The reason the deck BBQ's were halted on the dam ships was the direct result of what USPH officials deemed health violation(s) associated with them (the BBQ's not the always fair USPH officials) after one of their inspections. The HAL press release quoted states there will be deck BBQ's on three dam ships during the upcoming Mexican Riviera season. HAL is not going to risk additional/future USPH repeat violations resulting in potential fines levied against them, unless those violation(s) have been taken care of to the satisfaction of USPH. Pretty plain and simple

Yes, disappointed it won’t be on ours. Thanks Kazu for the link.
rkacruiser Posted September 24, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 24, 2018 Is it to much to hope for that if the USPH issues have been resolved for the Mexico cruises that an on-deck BBQ might re-appear for other cruise itineraries?
sail7seas Posted September 24, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 24, 2018 One would think in all this time since they say USPH shut down the deck b'ques, they coud/would have installed hand wash sink, made better provision for food dtorge and service. , I doubt any of it is on an 'impossible to do list.'
