May 2018 Update: HAL Dry Docks, Charters & Groups onboard

I think you have the charter wrong for January 2019 to the Panama Canal. You have it listed as the Veendam. We are booked on the Veendam January 4-25 for a B2B 21 day Cuba/Caribbean cruise.

Thanks so much for your wonderful efforts for us! I have a question: If one books on a cruise with say a musical group onboard, will the performances always be in a private room? Or, would the general passenger be able to enjoy as well? TIA

Generally all the activities for a "group" are exclusive for them. We've been on some with music groups and their concerts were only for their members. They had name tags to identify themselves as part of the group.

There is always a chance that something might be open for everyone on the ship, but not usually.

Looks like Noordam drydock for Sept/Oct 2019 is not got to happen as they are selling passages for that period.

Noordam's dry-dock is scheduled for 29 Sep 19 (completion of her last 7-Day Alaska Inside Passage voyage Vancouver to Vancouver) and 13 Oct 19 (the start of her 26-day South Pacific crossing, also from Vancouver, BC which concludes in Sydney, NSW on 09 Nov 19). Her dry-dock will be at the Victoria Shipyards Co. Ltd. in Esquimalt (Victoria), BC. Are you saying you see passages in between that time period?

I don't think the dates you provided for the Prinsendam drydock are correct. Prinsendam is scheduled for a 6 day sailing on 12/15/18.

this is an old thread. Note the title MAY 2018. Since then Prinsendam has been sold and dry dock reduced to one week.

Changes are reflected in the current thread (which has slipped down the forum listings here
