karen1821 Posted April 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2016 Going to be in San Francisco in September, and I understand it is about a mile walk to Fisherman's Wharf. I was wondering if there are any shuttles from the cruise ship to the wharf. If not what is the cheapest way to get there without walking. Thanks in advance. Philob Posted April 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 3, 2016 No luggage? F line trolley (vintage trolley cars). $2.25 pp or $1 senior rate.

If you are interested in riding the cable cars (which we NEVER get tired of - we do it every trip, but we're easily amused), the MUNI day pass is $20 and covers the trolley lines, cable cars and city buses. The cable cars are $7 each time you get on - so it doesn't take too many rides to cover the cost of the day pass. https://www.sfmta.com/getting-around/transit/fares-passes/visitor-day-passes

Yes, there were shuttles running from the parking lot in front of the cruise terminal. There is also a trolley stop. We took the trolley which brings you very close to Ghiradelli Square. We shopped that area and then walked back, stopping at Fisherman's Wharf for lunch along the way. Shuttles or trolley are much cheaper than a taxi.

nnn Posted July 27, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 27, 2016 The E or F train runs along the Embarcadero and is the most direct route by public transportation. However, those trains can get very full at busy times, and it's not uncommon for there to be no room to get on. If you can, sign up for Uber and/or Lyft. By far the easiest and quickest way to get around San Francisco.
clubby Posted July 30, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 30, 2016 If we decided to walk how long would it take and is it doable? We are both fit and active. Thanks
DUTRAVEL Posted July 30, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) If we decided to walk how long would it take and is it doable? We are both fit and active. Thanks It's very easy to walk - about 1 mile - it takes 15-20 minutes. If you walk the Embarcadero its all flat and you will pass by Pier 39. wheezedr Posted July 31, 2016 #14 Share Posted July 31, 2016 If we decided to walk how long would it take and is it doable? We are both fit and active. Thanks Very doable and the easiest way to go. At certain times you will actually be faster than the cars on the Embarcadero. Walkway is wide and flat.
Pacificlander Posted August 13, 2016 #15 Share Posted August 13, 2016 You could also take a pedicab. They are all along the Embarcedero.
vistapat Posted August 23, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 23, 2016 We will be in San Francisco overnight next month, and have dinner reservations at Alioto's at Fisherman's Wharf. We would be going from the pier to the restaurant just before 7:00, and returning probably at 9:00 or a bit later. Does the shuttle run during those hours? Thanks, Pat

pris993 Posted July 6, 2018 #18 Share Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) This is an easy and reasonable walk for anyone who is a walker... the F Street car is sometimes hard to get on if you don't get on at an early stop on Market St or and the end of the line at the wharf. Actually the whole area from the port to the end of the line is "fisherman's wharf" area... very colorful and touristy... but fun. Use ot have very nice boutiques, a long time ago... not simply sweater shirt shops... and street people of all kinds.
