Wonderful Copenhagen 2017 edition.

Recommended Posts

So this is the new version of my popular thread.

I will put the most asked subjects here on the first page.

Pier information

For pier location use this page, its updated closer to arrival with exact pier number and terminal.

http://www.cmport.com/ships-in-port/cruise-ships/season-current

C177 is Nordre Toldbod

C190-199 is Langelinie

C331 to 333 is Oceankaj

https://www.google.dk/maps/place/Oceankaj,+K%C3%B8benhavn/@55.7158931,12.6220538,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x465252b848542021:0x5125d6ae3b01baee!8m2!3d55.7158931!4d12.6242425

Only one ship will dock at C266 Levantkaj and that is MSC Magnifica on the 3rd of June so I wont go into details about that pier.

Transport to the piers.

At Nordre Toldbod the nearest bus stop is on route 1A with Esplanaden (Grønningen) when coming from central Copenhagen and Esplanaden (Store Kongensgade) when going to central Copenhagen.

http://dinoffentligetransport.dk/trafikinformation/koereplaner/koereplaner-bus/1a/

For Langelinie its the 26 bus.

At Østerport station it both stop at Østerport st. (Folke Bernadottes Allé) and Østerport st.

http://dinoffentligetransport.dk/trafikinformation/koereplaner/koereplaner-bus/26/

For Oceankaj its both bus 25 and 27

Bus 25 starts at Nørreport station, stops at Østerport st. (Folke Bernadottes Allé) and then continues to Oceankaj.

http://dinoffentligetransport.dk/trafikinformation/koereplaner/koereplaner-bus/25/

Bus 27 departs from Østerport station and stops at all the bus stops towards Oceankaj so its 4 minutes longer compared to 25.

http://dinoffentligetransport.dk/trafikinformation/koereplaner/koereplaner-bus/27/

http://journeyplanner.dk/ has been updated with bus 25´s timetable.

Prices are..

2 zone (piers to central Copenhagen) 24 kroner

3 zone (airport to central Copenhagen or pier) 36 kroner

At Oceankaj you buy the ticket at the town shop, the little hut between Terminal 1 and 2 on the other side of the road.

Else you can buy the citypass that is valid in zone 1 to 4 (including the airport)

24 hour ticket costs 80 kroner and 72 hour is 200 kroner.

http://www.citypass.dk/

Another option is the 24 hour transportation ticket that costs 130 Kroner and is valid in zone 1 to 99 so it covers Roskilde and the castles in Northern Zealand.

My guide to use the bus is in this thread.

Taxi Nord has a practical price calculater

Takst 1 and 3 is normal hours.

Takst 2 and 4 is night after Friday and Saturday from 23:00 to 07:00 and public holidays.

To quickly sum of the taxi situation at Oceankaj.

In general they don´t accept prebooking at Oceankaj because in their experience people just takes the first available taxi instead of the one they booked.

but they say that there should be plenty of taxis all the time.

Here are some hotel news for the 2018 season.

A 3rd Wake Up hotel will open in Summer 2018 with a little bit more than 500 rooms.

The location is a old office building across the road from the Marriott hotel.

The other Wakeup hotel in Borgergade is planning to build out in the backyard with 2-300 rooms, I don't have a completion date for this expansion but it is in public hearing at the moment so its probably first ready for the 2019 cruise season or very late in the 2018 season.

2 other projects that should be ready next year is the expansion of Hotel Nimb in Tivoli that will open later this year.

The other is yet another Scandic hotel that are located in the trendy meatpacking district very close to Dybbølsbro S-train station.

Danish Viking: thank you for this new thread (and for all of your other information). We are booked on a HAL cruise leaving Copenhagen in August 2018; it will be our first visit to Copenhagen and our plan is to spend several days there pre-cruise. I'm sure I will find this thread to be incredibly helpful as we do our planning, and I expect I'll have questions of my own.

Thank you again.

Question, and apologies if this is rather basic, but we are staying at Hotel Christian IV. The easiest way to get to/from Tivoli Gardens would be bus 1A or 26? I'm still trying to full figure out the bus routes. Thanks!

We will have the Copenhagen Card.

And another THANK YOU for the great info.

Walk up to Sølvgade (one block away) and take bus 26 towards Ålholm Plads from there.

Or if you walk down to Kongens Nytorv you can catch both 26 and 1A.

Great thank you. I found a pretty good bus route map so I think I'm getting it. :)

Hello Danish Viking,

I will be on a Regal Princess cruise and the ship docks at Oceankaj.

I will be staying at Comfort Hotel Vesterbro. I intend to take a BUS from the hotel to Norreport then transfer to Bus 25 to Oceankaj.

I will be using the Rejseplanen to plan my trip. However I'm not sure what to fill in for the "To" ? Should it be Norreport St.?

Please help.

Can we be sure that there will be bus 25 on 11 May, the day we board the ship?

What is the frequency of bus 25?

Another way is to take bus 26 from the hotel to Osterport then transfer to bus 27 to Oceankaj.

Which way is better where we will be assured of a seat.

Embarkation starts at 1pm. What would be a good time to take the bus when the crowd thins out.

Thank you.

1, I'm pretty sure they are in Danish, you will have to work on your Google translate skills or tell me what info you need and I will find it.

2, that info is provided on the first post.

As noted then journeyplanner. Dk is updated with the departures of bus 25.

Oceankaj is obviously your final destination so that is what you type.

If you want to be sure to take it from Nørreport you can expand your search with a via option and here you type Nørreport.

I'm sure this has been covered already, so apologies again. But is there a limit on the luggage one can take on the bus(es) say from the hotel to the port? I don't want to be "that guy" who tries to lug a ridiculous amount.

Also, I saw a post in the old thread about Uber not being available in Copenhagen but their website seems to indicate that it is. Would Uber be a good option if one doesn't want to take a bunch of lugage to/from the port? Thanks!

Uber is illegal in Denmark and they closed down a month ago or so, but a regular taxi should be fine or else I have provided a link on the first post to car services.

And why is it illegal.

First there is the tax question, when the driver doesn't get a real salery how do you tax him.

Second, the driver hasn't taken the taxi driver education/test (don't know what its called in english).

It's their private car so the passengers isn't insured if something happens and its hard to prove if the car is in a good and safe condition.

Hello Danish king: I am looking for a minibus and contacted the CPHcoach Co. through your link. Is this the same coach company that you use for sports events? I think I read it somewhere. I assume they are repeatable and reliable. They answered my inquiry right away. Thank you for any info you may have about them.

I am thinking of using them for my large family group. Thank You.

Yes they are the one, they are very reliable and the drivers are very friendly.

I can provide some more links to other companies if you want to.
