Carnival Players Club Premier Getaway

This offer just popped up when I was looking for a cruise this summer. I've had normal casino offers, but not this one. Both this and the normal Casino offer is appearing. What makes the Premier Getaway better?? We did our first Carnival cruise in October. Had a great time on the ship and the casino. My husband and I are fairly new to cruising, and still learning.

As far as I know, the casino rate is typically offered (if you are eligible for it) on almost any cruise; however, the Premier cruises are only offered on specific dates/ships (10 sailings offered of 7+ days, and 3 sailings under 5 days) and offer special perks. I just received my Premier cruise mailer yesterday and it includes: $600 casino cash, reduced rates, premier check-in, commemorative Players Club gift, welcome aboard cocktail party, Premier-only events and tournaments, complimentary drinks in the casino, and 'additional special perks and surprises.' Haven't sailed on Carnival in almost 3 years, but just a few weeks ago I booked a casino rate for a 3-night cruise later this year - guess that triggered the Premier offer. I'm surprised at the offer since it's been so long since I've gambled/booked with Carnival - they must really want me back from NCL. :p

That makes since then. I went to look at dates to cruise and it only went into June. We are cruising again over Christmas, and still thinking about one in August. I'm sure we will have other chances to get that rate. Your post was very helpful.

Thanks,

Cynthia

The Premier Getaways are all 4 or 5 day cruises. They seem to be targeting those of us that do not quite hit the new 7500 points in a cruise qualifier for the Premier 7+ day cruises. I received the Premier Getaway off and saw 8 sailings. 2 in July, 4 in August, and 2 in September. All are out of Florida except 9/28 out of Mobile.

Well darn! I wonder if I call them they'll 'downgrade' my offer? I'm not taking one of the 10 7-night sailings offered due to lack of vacation time. More options on a 4-day sailing (especially out of Mobile) would be perfect! Think I'll do some research on this next week. I still think it's odd that I got the offer to begin with when I haven't sailed with them in 3 years, and only hit above 7500 points once or twice in those old sailings. Weird.

Dear SamIam,

CARNIVALS $7,500 Premier cruise requirement refers to the PAST 12 MONTHS, not per cruise! I sail Carnival about 8 x/yr, sailing on my 103rd Carnival Cruise (another Premier) this Friday on the Sunshine. I am mostly a $5 blackjack player, throw about $20/day in slots, and couldnt understand WHY I qualify for the Premiers. The free drinks for me AND MY NON GAMBLING GF are worth it.

Check your Carnival vifp account online, you can usually see all of your available offers there and both types of premiers.

I have just received my first premier offer and have booked it. Am now reading negative reviews based on crowded casino and difficulty finding tables and machines at prime times. The offer states complimentary cocktails while playing. We usually buy beverage packages. Will my partner and cabinmate also get complimentary drinks in the casino? The "all persons in cabin must purchase" will definitely be affected by the answer to this question. Thanks.

Only the two primaries on the booking will receive the "drinks on us card". The casino can get a little crowded at times, but it's not all that bad that you can't enjoy yourself.

True - I guess I misspoke. Happens a lot. :') But either way, I hadn't sailed with Carnival since 2014, and got the Premier offers in 2017. We ended up taking the Premier Getaway cruise, and I ended up with over 7500 points on the 4 night sailing. Was hoping for an Ultra (or Elite - whichever one is lower) offer, but nope. But they do keep emailing me Premier offers and offers for free balcony cabins on sailings with about 2 weeks' notice. Of course, once I'm retired in August and have unlimited vacation time, those will stop. ;p

Sometimes. I do check my offers religiously - always keeping an eye out for a decent one. (And of course, plotting my milestone cruise.) But the free balcony cabins they've been offering lately don't show up there. E-mail only. Carnival likes to keep us on our toes, clearly! :D

It's been a few years since we cruised with Carnival. Has this changed? It used to only be the primary person with 1 drink allowed every 30 minutes to prevent you from grabbing one for your SO. Do they give a card to both adults now? Do you still have to earn so many points if you're going on a free casino cruise?

Did a Premier last December, booked through the points I accumulated. The wife and I both had the DOU card waiting in the cabin. Drinks were spaced at every 15 minutes.

Can you tell me the perks you received while on your Getaway?

We have two Premier Getaway cruises booked for Nov. and Dec. They are shorter than the usual Premier cruises, so less expensive. We are retired and can cruise anytime and will have cruised 6 times this year, although not all were shorter ones, thanks to casino bounce back offers and Premier Getaway and Premier cruises. Love 'em!
