Picture-A-Week 2018 - Week 03

Pictures taken between Monday, January 15 and Sunday, January 21.

We have gotten 8 inches of snow so far today -- we were suppose to get only 1 - 3 inches.

Terrific photos and quite a bit of snow.

Krazy Kruisers, I was thinking with snow like that it makes me want to cruise.

We were supposed to get ice today which is unusual for us but we have very cold weather well below our norm.

After I posted those pictures, we got another 4 inches.

Our neighbor, who is also our gardener, has a powerful blower and used it 3 times to blow away the snow.

We are way below our normal temperatures. Today we will be closer to normal temperatures -- like around 30.

No snow here...not lately. Not ever (well, we did get flurries in 1977 that never even touched the ground before they melted!). But lots of birds for winter. Here are some more from last weekend:

Guess who was back and posing on his palm frond stump again! The male painted bunting showing off those colors:

And occasionally, he'd swap places with the wife - the female bunting who isn't quite as gloriously colored - but still a nice green:

Cops 'n Cars for Kids

The Oviedo-Winter Springs Optimist Club presented the largest Car Show in Central Florida this past Saturday. It was FREE to the public.

I have no way of knowing how many Americans have never seen the Statue of Liberty in person. Of those who have seen her, I have no idea how many don't know that her real name is “Liberty Enlightening The World”. Those numbers are now meaningless as I no longer belong to either group. On our departure from Cape Liberty Cruise Port aboard the Anthem Of The Seas, the Captain took a detour right past Bedloe's Island (now Liberty Island) and let us pay our respects. I am a bit of a Patriot and have a fondness for history, so maybe it wasn’t just the 28° wind that made my eyes water as we passed her by. Well met Lady Liberty.

I have seen Lady Liberty 2 times. My DH has never seen her.

We were scheduled to stay in NY at the end of a cruise, but our cruise was cancelled when DH's mother died.
