Port Phillip Bay stormy

Just coming home with very strong winds. Driving down The Strand in Williamstown looking at the very lumpy water. First thing I saw:

Looking across the Bay see Seabourn Encore due to leave at 11pm.

But can also see the stern of the Astor, side on to the wind and waves. Struggling to continue its turn. Did not move in the 10 minutes I was

watching

Cheers, hopefully not too much damage happening.

Newspaper reports Astor was blown onto the end of the pier and had to be pulled off by tugs.

Marine traffic shows it did a lot of turns in the Bay. Presumably checking for damage

Still has not gone through heads.

Here is really windy, branches down. Fun.

Would have been quite tricky getting out of the bay as well.

It was quite tricky getting out of my front door! The wind was from the south east so would have made it quite difficult for the ships to move away from the pier. It is reasonably calm here this morning.

Bay is as calm as anything this morning. Gentle breeze, clear blue sky.

Encore left this morning instead of late last night, but only going to Geelong.

Yacht didn’t make it.
