Swap out CC deposit for GC?

Hi. I booked a cruise and paid the deposit with a credit card before I heard about the AARP gift cards. Has anyone called Carnival to refund the credit card and pay the deposit with a gift card instead? Can this be done online? Thank you for your help :)

no way, but you can use the gift cards for everything else. We paid our Cheers with gift cards.

Yes, I've done it many times with no problems!

You can call Carnival and have them do it as long as it's not for final payment. Once that's made it can't be undone. I do it all the time. One call to my PVP and it's handled.

As firemanbobswife said there is no reason it can't be done. But you will have to speak with your TA rather than call Carnival. If you are booked through a TA Carnival can't do anything with your booking.
